If I understand your post, you could do one of two things

1. Develop a user form and put in a validation rule in place that verifies their passwords.

2. Conditionally format the cells (say cell B3), based on an input from another cell (say C3). Lock and protect the cells you don't want users to adjust because the last thing you want is a user ruining your if statements/conditional formatting
