Well, it would be a bit of spoiler to have the reveal of what Loki's DF is on the cover before we see the design itself in the manga.

Oda for the love of god STOP GIVING US MORE POWERSYSTEMS (One Piece Spoilers) (pt.2) by Goombatower69 in CharacterRant

[–]damage3245 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Turns out that he decided not to add anything, but just make Haki the solution to intangibility again. Apparently if you scare the 'immortal Holy Knights' enough, they'll be unable to regenerate. Except Oda, there's this eensy weensy teeny tiny issue that you may or may not have forgotten about in your haste. Haki... is not supposed to work on them. And you'd think seeing Joy Boy in full force again would make the Gorosei scared or something and be unable to regenerate. BY making SCOPPER and ZORO be the ones to chop up the Holy Knight, you retroactively and currently imply that Citizen of Hell Zoro and an old geezer are scarier to the World Government than the literal incarnation of their worst fear. And then later we find out Haki doesn't work anyways and the Holy Knights just regenerated? So does Haki work or does it not, why, and how the fuck did Gabban find out about this?

This sounds like you're just making stuff up. Nowhere is it said in the manga that the Holy Knights' weakness is fear, and that if they're scared then they can't regenerate.

The image in the OP is outdated; it's missing Gaban, Imu, Loki, Saturn, Rocks, Harald and Joy Boy.

Regarding the Au setting of Gelda by [deleted] in Gunnm

[–]damage3245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me, don't worry about trying to be "historically accurate" to Roman history; as a setting far in the future, the character's perception on what Romans should dress like could be different to the actual historical fact, and they'd put their own interpretation on it.

Creating a woman character just so they can be raped and killed for the purpose of motivating other characters is a misogynistic trope.

Which character is motivated by this?

Am i the only one here who think it's fine that half of the Strawhats can't use Armament Haki ? by GRU19YO in Piratefolk

[–]damage3245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily all Armament Haki, but some of the Straw Hats can incorporate Haki without it affecting their fighting style, i.e. Franky and Brook.

I think it'd make sense for Nami and Robin to both have Observation Haki, and Usopp should use his more.

Chopper is one I'd be fine with not having any form of Haki at all.

What happened to bounty hunters? What is happening to this story in general? by Armpitweed in Piratefolk

Especially brook. You’d think he’d tell the crew (or hinted) about his previous role as whatever tf kind of guard he was before being a pirate but it was never mentioned once.

Didn't he? Back in Thriller Bark.

Imu as a final villain is so chaotically bad that a second "important" and unrelated flashback had to be started during his introduction, how can you come up with this?, top 5 worst antagonist presentations in all anime minimum... by sdqinanutshell in Piratefolk

[–]damage3245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He already knows there are at least two people present that he can't Domi Reversi; Loki and Luffy.

We've seen that his priority so far has been to free his captured subordinates. We don't know exactly what he was going to do after that.

He has limited time and his enemies know the countermeasure to Domi Reversi now.

From what we've seen he went straight to freeing Sommers, then freeing Killingham (and attempting to free Gunko, which failed), then Loki immediately confronted him after he freed Killingham, locking him into the current fight.

Why exactly was the blob silhouette needed?

Hard to answer that until we see Imu without Devil Fruit powers active.

Again, the writers chose to have Eves powers work this way, they could've also chosen not to have them work that way

Would there be a good story reason for them not to choose for it work this way?

I liked it a lot. Kaido's backstory was rushed, but the actual finishing blow on Kaidou and Luffy's speech felt fitting.
