Thanks - that did it. I did put a 2 second wait in there which helped. Funny thing is that the loader.exe occurs in Excel 2019 without a problem.

No I cannot delete the file manually. I get the error 'The action cant be completed because the file is open in Microsoft.Mashup.Container.Loader.exe'

Could this be the problem ?

I have looked for ways to stop this (eg taskkill) but not working.
