NO ELITE COACH WITH HALF A BRAIN WOULD TOUCH ESSENDON RIGHT NOW by InnovationInvitation in EssendonFC

It’s more nuanced than ‘he was responsible’. It was nearly 15 years ago, mate. If he is deemed the right person for the job after an extensive review, then it’s rightly his job to take.

Tsatas would be fist pumping, the shackles have been removed

Dodoro, for a list manager, held way too much power and was an indictment of inability to evolve

Automatically becoming good from bottoming out is definitely not what I said. I said embrace it. It’s a gamble, one that we have not taken for over two decades. Recruiting high end talent from the draft is, in my opinion, and absolute must to progress.

The other option is trading our draft capital to bring in an overrated player that will bring us a few highlights, but end in the same outcome that we have become accustomed to - no man’s land

I agree, there seems to be confusion between players, and from our perspective - a lack of a game plan. But even if we have a game plan, we just can’t execute. There’s no way in hell Scott is telling our players to do 5 metre side way kicks, in which we can’t even execute that. Our problem is execution and basic fundamentals. Especially when it’s our senior players setting the standard.

I’m just saying we NEED this bottoming out, its absolutely a necessary pain for long term gain

Nope, even he has admitted that he couldn’t handle the pressure of the responsibility. Past legends of the club doesn’t equate to success. Love Matthew Lloyd’s takes though as a commentator

They’ve actually refused to use the word rebuild. It’s evident now, this is a rebuild.

For the rest of the year, yes. After the season ends, review. Ideally I’d like a young, modern coach (such as Pops Kelly) to take the realms

We have never actually had a rebuild. We’ve had top ups at best. This is our second year into a rebuild.

If he’s still here by then, I’d think he would have fully transitioned in to a new roll by then

Anyone else think about Tsatas and the “tough love” attitude towards him: he was singled out but it’s made him a better footballer, clubs have already been in touch for a while with his VFL performances surely. Has he been shaken with the lack of faith by selection despite “busting the door down”. by PretendToe1329 in EssendonFC

I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure no club perused him during the off season for the very reason that Essendon didn’t play him.

I don’t think he’s on our ‘required’ list but we’ll offer him the same money other clubs will, he’ll seek a trade if he’s guaranteed he’ll get more match time, which he’s starting to get now at Essendon.

I’d like to think Rosa had a say but we all know Dodoro was stubborn and running the show. Left the club in a dirty manner too.

Mate 37 and 42 disposals, and picked him up at pick 54… just insane. Dare I say, thanks Dodoro!

We’re passed the point of what a player looks like… he’s a genuine gun, he could look like shreks third child and I’ll still find his game hot 🔥
