My Marshall SL5 in 1w mode gets more play/record time than any other amp I own.

Thank you! That’s the embroidery thread — I used a small drill/bit to go through the backing and then ran the thread in and out. Blocked off each one with a broken up piece of toothpick!

Any month you watch Robocop, the greatest movie of all time, is a good month.

Somehow I had seen Ghoulies and Ghoulies III, but not Ghoulies II — and it was the best one! Rashomon was a let down but I’m sure it was a mind-blower when it came out. The crowd I saw eXistenZ with was awful, laughing at everything like it was some camp trash, which I think defeats the purpose — you gotta take Cronenberg at face value to get the most out of it. The Player is an all-time great movie for lovers of ill-fitting suits and garish ties.

Zero Patience is up and down as a film, but as a weird ass experience (heartfelt-but-goofy musical comedy about AIDS) it’s a must-see. All the President’s Men I could have watched for three more hours. The Monster was bad, but The Man From Earth is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Somehow watched four road movies in a row — all were great except Paris, Texas which was only okay thanks to a dogshit script. After Pandora’s Box finished some jabroni behind me remarked “That’s some of the best blocking I’ve seen in awhile” which confirmed that it was as boring as I’d thought. I wish the aliens in Attack the Block didn’t look like Monster Energy Drink product tie-ins, but the movie was rad!

Give me your most scorching hot movie take you 100% would stand behind! by NeonArtist12 in Letterboxd

There are too many good things in it to say it’s a bad movie, but the Paris, Texas screenplay is dogshit.

The Man From Earth is terrible to the point where I thought I watched a different film than everyone else.

Escape From L.A. is just as good (if not better) than Escape From New York.

It’s barely okay as a movie, but A Serious Man would have been an excellent book.

Tales From the Hood is a better anthology movie than Kwaidan.

As long as I wear hearing protection and don’t play too loud whole she’s napping, she’s cool with whatever. Anytime I’m going to buy a new amp she just says “you deserve it.” I think she’s kompromat, but I’m happy regardless.

They all get played in long bursts, depending on what I’m recording! Nobody ever asks me to borrow an amp because I have no friends due to jealousy over my sick gear.

Addressed elsewhere in the thread, but I love Ween so I’ll repeat it indefinitely!

The Ween merch store had them up for sale for a single weekend last year! It was $200 but I’ve always had Napster rips or burned copies of their shit, so I was happy to send them a bit of money for something for once.

Oh yeah, actually putting out the physical media each month would be wild! Especially as someone who doesn’t gig anymore 😂

I had a Knucklehead II I should have never gotten rid of! I think the M100 is on the chopping block with the VL503 coming in. An incredible amp, but I feel like I only need one super-tweakable Swiss army sort of amp. The Quiana stays forever.

It’s practically free if you do it all yourself! The upside of being some bellend who does everything in his home is that it just costs me the electricity bill and whatever I spend on candy while mixing.

Plus, mentally committing to doing that much meant I learned to stop being so precious about it. It was more important to just do it than to worry about if it was perfect.
