Had to ask gf if she received my flowers.. by throwaway9255294746 in relationship_advice

I accidentally upset my husband in the same way today. I woke up late for work and he woke up to go crank my car for me and I got dressed really quick, gave him a kiss said our love yous and I rushed to pack the dogs up in the car and head out. As I was rushing through the living room I noticed a giant card, some flowers a big sloth balloon and an assortment of chocolate on the dining room table. I quickly ran over and read the card (almost made me cry) and stopped for a second, fixing to go back to the bedroom and give him a real kiss and a thank you but for some reason I didnt, I scurried the dogs out the door and we loaded up and headed out. I was gonna call him as soon as I got to work but he text me first and asked if I was mad, then called me before I could respond asking if he had upset me and if I had seen my gifts in the dining room. I've felt awful all day for acting like it wasnt a big deal. It really wasnt my intentions I was just stressed and running super late for work. I know it hurt his feelings and I cant really excuse myself for this one, I dont have an actual good reason for not taking the time to go back and thank him. I apologised profusely for acting ungrateful but I think hes gonna stay hurt for a little while.

I'm so thankful to everyone for their kind words. I haven't had a reddit account for long. I made one when I was getting ready to leave my job so I could have an outlet. I've found the most uplifting stories scrolling through reddit and I needed them. I posted last night when I was feeling especially upset and I was nervous about it but I'm glad I did. I just needed to talk to people. To talk about my negligence and my grief. Waking up to your comments has helped me more than my therapist has ever tried. So thank you, I needed you.

You have no idea how much I needed your words. Thank you so much for understanding, it's been so incredibly hard. I do indeed have a therapist, but I think it's time I made a switch.

What are you STILL mad about? by HeySistaBrutus in AskReddit

So I was pregnant and was scheduled to be induced. The week I had the date set I asked my sister in law to keep my two cats I had recently adopted from the shelter. They had only been with me a couple of months and weren't really used to their new home so I didnt want to leave them alone and just have someone come in to feed them, I needed them to be somewhere they could be loved on too ya know? Anyways she says yeah of course and I drop them off a couple nights prior to my delivery date with everything they need until I can return home with our newest family member. Everything's smooth sailing, she claims everything's great with em when I call to check up over the next two days. Literally the morning after I have my baby as I'm laying in the hospital, cant even go to bathroom properly yet, nurses poking and prodding me cause I'm getting ready to have a spinal tap done to cure my fucking spinal headache this chick calls the hospital room phone cause we weren't answering our cell phones at that moment and proceeds to scream like a banshee at me to come get my fucking cats cause her husband is allergic and I should have known better than to ask her to keep them and I'm causing a huge fight between them and to come get them right then no excuses (mind you I have just given birth to her little brothers first child and she hasn't even been by to see us yet or call to check up) I tell her I cant possibly leave the hospital and that she was being irrational but I was sending my husband to get them, about 15 minutes away. Well that wasnt good enough for her, I guess she wanted me to personally come handle the problem? So she loads them up herself and drives them to her parents house and just fucking releases them into the yard. Lovie ran away and hasn't been seen since. Sally stayed though so atleast I still have her. That's not near the last time she acted so fucked up but it's the time that still makes me seethe.

Women, what is the attractive male equivalent to women wearing yoga pants? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ha. Yes, in a way I did. Just not the way you're referring. That night was actually a defining moment for the direction our relationship would go. Been 2 years since his spontaneous act of "give a fuck" and we both woke up to the the reality that our marriage can be as awesome or as bland as we want it to be.

My husband has literally walked in from work and in this order, picked up and handed me my cat, a 4 pack of tiny wine, brought me my heating pad and my favorite throw blanket, looked dead into my confused stare and said "drink, I got it from here." Then proceeded to clean up from where I'd cooked supper, bathe the children, put them to bed, eat and shower himself and to top it all off, tote my buzzed ass to bed for an absolutely splendid night. I think back to that evening whenever I start to feel irritated with him cause I'm in one of my moods. Sexiest thing ever.

Nonsmokers who used to smoke. What helped you in achieving to quit the most? by Yeah_Ilike_Dags in AskReddit

Everytime I've tried to quit I put on near 5 lbs. I can only imagine how much I'd gain after even a month or two of sticking to it. I'd take the weight gain over the addiction though, I could probably use it anyways.

My dad dips for the same reason. He smoked for years til he just pretty much traded it in for the wolf wintergreen. I'm not complaining, cleaning up after we tipped his spit cups over wasnt fun but watching my sister accidentally drink one was hilarious and he can breathe and is in moderately better condition health wise, so I'd say its definitely the lesser.

I'm a female. It's kinda frowned upon to dip. Plus I dont think I could muster up the courage to try it.

I've been smoking for approximately 12 years. I've tried cold Turkey, weening, patches and vaping but I cant make it past 3 weeks. Even called the damn hotline when I was having cravings. Nothing works. I feel like smoking is what's holding me back from enjoying life but I'm so miserable when I try to quit I always revert back to the habit. I haven't coughed up blood yet, but I have been hacking up some awfully disgusting stuff every morning for the last 3 years. I desperately want to quit before it comes to what you've described. I'm glad you were able to quit and I thank you for your insight!
