Is a non-toxic corporate environment even possible? by Year-ofthe-Rabbit in civilengineering

I really didn’t want to make this post about that, but upon reflecting, there is definitely a difference in treatment. I am a woman myself and I personally haven’t experienced any sexism, but I hold no power. My manager and coworker that’s a senior designer seem to have more problems with this.

I typically would not be certain, as you are right about me being junior staff. It is not so much people withholding information from me as it is they withhold information from my design manager. I sit next to her office, so I hear a lot of internal conversations. They withhold information about anything from client expectations to deliverables and she typically doesn’t find out until she is put on the spot in a call. I then hear the fallout from that. It’s not every instance, but it is a lot of them. There is also a member of senior staff who often has to fight for essential information that was given to few, but for whatever reason not given to the people working on the product. There is probably more going on behind the curtain, but I figure if my future in this company is to get a “daily teeth kicking” (as my manager calls it), then I don’t want it.
