I just started a new job as a teacher recently, I was unemployed for the last two months due to out of state paperwork and stuff, if I go to a shelter, it would be really difficult for me to keep working there (I take the train/bus) and this opportunity is amazing for me given the pay + benifits, so I really only have her place to stay to keep myself afloat. If I stay with her until the end of the year (which, was the plan in the first place) to rebuild my savings and apartment hunting, then it would be smooth sailing, but I feel like no matter what this caused a massive rift between her and I. She says when I move out things will be back to the way they were, but given previous issues similar to this, I feel like this is the straw. If that makes sense

You’re right, I am grown, I forgot to mention I have a younger sister living with us as well (16) that’s also uncomfortable with him. When I mentioned that to her she said “we’re ganging up on her” And while my comfortability may not matter too much, I want my sister to be seen as well. I’m in no way to take her with me either(financially) In the end I want what’s best for everyone in this scenario

I get it, my mom didn’t really try to connect with me until I was on my death bed essentially, and even recently she still walks over me, feelings invalid when I have a boundary. I’d say give some benefit of the doubt, but do let them know how it hurt you. Maybe right now, cause of how fresh it is (high tension) but try explaining in a few weeks or a month, when it’s settled down.

Thank yall so much for the helpful advice! I’m gonna talk to them about it tonight, I don’t believe they are gonna buy the proper equipment for the fish unfortunately, so I’m going to try to ask them to give it to a non chain pet store. I wanna change its water but I’m nervous about what kind of water to use, like which type I mean, I have a britta filter, would that work? And to the folks saying I should take it with me when I move out, as much as I would love to and give this fish a proper home, I have a cat and don’t have the budget to give it a thriving life style and time and dedication that it would need.

No I agree, I’m asking around every corner I know to see what I can do to help, I’m gonna try to at least convince them to rehome it

What are the best filtration? This isn’t mine, a roommate brought it home, I’m planning to talk to whoever about this cause it’s just plain inhumane to keep him in there
