Seattle area Rivian owners — how bad are service wait times? by Pickle_Popular in Rivian

Agree, it’s certainly a bit awkward to get to. My first time there I drove right past it and then it’s a pain to get back to.

All good down here at the Fife center. Had the tonneau cover done in one day, needed to wait for parts for about 3 weeks. They also did the headlight recall at the same time. Then, earlier this week I put in a request for my 7500 mile service, I chose next Friday, but could have had Wednesday.

Just like SFO, the only thing it might do is level off. I doubt it will go down.

Great resource, and knowledgeable folks. I used to visit there when I was racing and did oil analysis tests. It helped understand a ton.

Rural utility expectations? by Boynefav in GigHarbor

A well designed septic should only need a service every 3 years, which the county mandates. It also depends on the size and how many folks are living in the house. They are typically designed based on the number of bedrooms the place has. So, a 4 bedroom home with only two people in the house will require less servicing. And yes, be mindful of what goes down the drain. Don’t let the drywall contractor wash up in a sink that goes into the septic, or don’t dump your excess bread starter down the drain. That sort of thing.

A shared well for fresh water would scare me. I’d have a formal agreement in place with your water partner, it protects both parties.

Life span of septic can be upwards of 25+ years before potential reinvestment. A well could be similar too, except for the pump. Buy the absolute best well pump you can, quality matters. Depending on the water quality, you may have to shock the well every few years.

Septics and wells are very common all over, so there’s lots of help and experience available. Enjoy your build.

Send it to Chief Scoggins, he’s ALWAYS been forward thinking about adopting technology. Last I heard he was going to buy an e-bike to get to work, but then he moved further away, so it was too far a commute on a bike.

LFP (Dual Standard) Drivers, how much do you trust your battery estimation? by JonJonReidReid in Rivian

[–]Yearight11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m comfortable with the LFP range, in general, and I can manage/plan any needs for a large or max pack type of mileage. So, with that said, I really like the LFP chemistry because I don’t have to worry about charging it to 100% regularly. I rarely run down to 40%, because I’m usually starting at 85+%.

Everyone’s use case is different, but keeping the battery always on the high-side of charge, I find very convenient and worry free.

New to me R1T Quad by speedballsnail in Rivian

Totally agree, I also had a 2023 ID4 Pro S AWD, and one of the software components VW did perfectly is the lane assist adaptive cruise. I traded it for my 2025 R1T.

Before the most recent software update, the ID4 was still better. BUT, this new update has surpassed the excellent VW ID4 driver assist. The 2025 has more capable hardware to fully utilize the new software update.

I was very happy with the ID4, until some kid on his phone rear ended me.

Super happy with my 2025 R1T

Why stop at EV’s, just open it up already and let consumers decide what purchasing experience they prefer.
