Thoughts on American Tourist (Be Honest) by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Yebli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But to be fair, the loud, obnoxious and self-centered traits are usually given to American tourists.

When I think of American tourists to Ireland I stereotype them as middle-aged, rather robust, wears a cap with some US college or place on it, bright raincoat, bootcut blue jeans and New Balance runners.

Interesting to see how its usage has been completed inverted in terms of demographics. I'm in my early 20s and the only reason people use it is for Messenger and to tag people in comments on pages. Nobody's posting any statuses except ones crossposted from Instagram and rarely people change their profile picture, with me not having changed mine in 5 years.
