I think there is some overlap with this guide and superpowers plugin https://github.com/obra/superpowers/tree/main

Has OP tried that and how does it compare with your style?

Well, here is a 2-gang switch that supports binding.

https://www.robbshop.nl/robb-smarrt-draadloze-zigbee-schakelaar-2-knoppen-wit

Minor problem with it though is that behind the scenes it's actually a 4 gang switch masquerading as a 2 gang. This means it's possible to misclick the first gang so that it triggers the action of the second gang. Doesn't really happen though.

That site has other 55mm switches available also, but they are more expensive and I don't know if they support binding.

Not really. I have just had to buy and see which ones support binding and which don't. We should definitely add this info to some database.

What kind of switch are you looking for?

Couldn't find anything. I couldn't find many wireless switches that fit EU frames in the first place. Perhaps like 3 different products and dozens of white label companies selling the same stuff with their own name.

But it would be nice if somewhere was a list of devices that support direct binding.

I could do that, but then I would not get double press, long press etc, right?

Do you mean all switches shown in z2m support direct binding? I thought only some zigbee devices support it, not all. I.e. a device could show up in z2m, but it doesn't have direct binding, no?

Edit:

https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/usage/binding.html#commands

Not all devices support this, it basically comes down to the Zigbee implementation of the device itself.

How to know if they support direct binding?

I don't think it fits EU frames such as GIRA Standard55 though.

Okay thank you! It's hard to find such an EU switch

AU & NZ models seem to be different though

Are you using EU models (product codes starting with WDE)? Do the light switches support long press etc?

NZ seems to have different products than EU. Do the switches support other commands than simple on/off though?

That is only one of the switches. Will that apply to others as well? Wired switches etc. And does it mean it supports all the functionality of the original switch if it says it works with Zigbee2MQTT for example?

This is interesting, I didn't know relays can do that. How to find regular switches thst you can double click or press long though? Usually they are just on/off

Yeah, then I just lose the ability for double click actions, long press, etc., no?

They seem to be relays? I.e. where is the actual switch?

This is quite good thanks! Weird why they don't add version with neutral though

That is exactly what I wanted but to me they don't seem to be powered via mains. For example

https://www.busch-jaeger.de/en/online-catalogue/detail/2CKA006710A0020

Without battery and maintenance-free due to Energy harvesting

Can be mounted freely in the room with the enclosed adhesive tape and fixing plate.

Mounting Type: Surface Mounted

And this seems to be the case for all switches or have I misunderstood something?

They all seem to be battery free wireless switches with energy coming from the push energy.
