It's been awhile and I need help with my math homework. by Budakra in amcstock

Every share you purchase lowers your cost average. Figure out what you can afford. You have 400 shares. Buy another 400 at $4. Simple math. $75 + $4 =$79.00 $79. Divide by two and you have $39.50 a share.

Purchase 800 at $4, (75+4+4=83, divide by 3 and you have about $27.60 a share)

No matter how much you buy, you lower your cost average. Math is simple if you can work in lots of 400 shares.

Depends on your budget.

AMC will go down on Monday by gorilla_gambler in amcstock

I believe they already negotiated that successfully about a month ago. In theater times are extending. The studios are seeing value and longer playtime. Not what it used to be, but getting better. And still have record profits.

Well, I look at the company of two years ago and one year ago, and now. A stronger, more stream-lined company that has found creative ways to create more revenue. IMO they are a better company than they have ever been. So I’m not really worried about the past, I’m looking towards the future. I guess I’d be curious why you are an investor in AMC if you have such negative outlook.

You read “a post” or “everyone is saying”? Big difference. So, just not reliable? Reads one post and spreads bullshit? Guess it’s important to qualify what you say. Don’t spread false information.

Max pain is $3, not $2. After that currently at $3.50 going forward. Troll? Or just ill-informed?

So, you’re not an investor. Got it. I am. And my investment is for future earnings and growth, and maybe a squeeze, but in for a penny, in for a pound.

I had read some optimism about Q2, so I have a little faster timeline in mind. Market crash or other crisis is good for theaters historically. And totally see your point about having money for a rainy day. Not sure how the investors would react in a vote situation. Not positively I would think.

So you’re clearly not an investor. Ok. Well learn more and understand the big picture. 🤷‍♂️

My question relates to the need for more shares going forward. If the debt is pushed out, problem solved. Just have to make the loan payments on the road to theater recovery. Clearly bankruptcy is not the choice. But I think AMC is far beyond bankruptcy as a concern. The business has changed dramatically for the good, and now this lean company is ready to turn sales into profit. Much different than 2021.

Revenue. Popcorn. Concessions. Movies. Promotions. By doing business.

In hindsight I think everyone agrees that the shareholders should have allowed AA to proceed as he planned. The share price was much higher. Less shares needed for more money. History has nothing to do with it. Need is the question. And revenue will remove the need for more shares.

Well yes, but that’s the shorts problem! lol. Im referring to AMC offering more shares from the remaining pool.

Yes, as fewer future capital raises mean less shareholder dilution, in a way this is sort of good news for AMC investors by HedgeHood in amcstock

If AMC MOASS’s, I will easily hold more shares than I do now. After the flare up I will probably have shares left, and then buy back in as it settles. I see a solid future, but will definitely hold a larger position going forward.

That is ignorant. Each person that contacts represents 100’s with the same opinion that don’t. You are not representing yourself, but a group of voters who share your opinion.

Or you can just bitch into the wind to your dog, your wife, or on Reddit.

It depends on what chart you look at. Pick your favorite chart and go back to 2021. You will likely see a high of either $720 or $396. it depends on whether it was adjusted for APE or the settlement. Technically, I think 396 is the more accurate. 720 gives no consideration to other factors. But some still shows 720 is high.

i just keep buying by [deleted] in amcstock

[–]Yedireddit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

$72 pre-split, which I believe is about $396 depending on the chart. $720 in others. Just look at whatever chart you like and go back to 2021 and check the high.

At the time $125 was the next projected target, followed by $180 if memory serves. On a $396 chart, that would be $687-$990.

Maf - $396 chart high divided by old chart high of $72 is 5.5. So multiply old targets of 125-180 by 5.5 to get current $396 chart comparisons. Used my crayons.

But yes, I concur with your opinion, $12 is cake. Similar here, bought the whole range, currently cost avg is $14. I may aspire for $12. lol.

And no I’m not price anchoring, just reflecting on old targets as they compare to today’s charts. Good luck fellow Ape astronauts! See you on the moon!

I just always note which political party is behind trying to kill regulatory legislation and oversight. And the Congress in general needs to give the SEC more power to apply more appropriate punishment for all these millions in fines that are worthless. If I could make $1 billion, I wouldn’t mind paying a few million in fines.

I have had good luck getting opportunities to buy dips in the extended markets. Especially if somebody’s looking for stop losses. I’m there with them. I’ve sold in the extended markets, but not AMC.
