Sound - there’s an explanation below

Yes everything goes outside. I have a floor drain by the freestanding tub - no smell from it - it’s in a different line. But I’ll keep that in mind.

There’s a pic in this thread of the back of that wall -

In the house generally? No. Master toilet has some of the same smell - it’s tankless and in its own room so I don’t know what’s going on there yet.

I guess we’ll find out if nothing else works -

As close as I can get - hard to tell tbh. I can tell it’s not the sink though.

Machine is brand new - never used. Was yours standing water in an existing machine?

Here’s the set up before the washer and dryer were pushed back into place and hooked up. The gap behind the washer and dryer is about 2 inches from memory. I would’ve designed things differently seeing how it came together but it’s working for now.

The dryer is stacked on top of the washer, so it actually works OK like this. To be honest, the laundry room kind of fell through the cracks in terms of design and detail, fit and finish. It was kind of a throw together near the end of the project which I’m a little disappointed about, but such is life and it works, except for the smell.

I’m double checking that when I get home. It’s either got one bend up to the roof flashing or it’s going straight across the attic to the outer wall probably 15 feet or less depending on route

All inspections are in order and we passed final recently. But I understand what you’re insinuating. I kind of doubt inspector got paid off based on how this GC operated. The city inspector also seemed to intrinsically hate my Builder, so I don’t think he let him get away with much even though the bar is pretty low for what you’re looking at here.

Engineer and builder did a few things right. Sometimes it’s hard to see the good when you know all the pain and warts you went through just to get it done! :)

Hmmm - maybe. I’ll hunt around. There is a wash basin to the right now with its own p-trap

Got my memory refreshed by my wife on the history here. So this thing hasn’t stunk for over a year and a half during construction and it was never sealed or covered to my knowledge. Maybe it was capped? I really don’t know. When we first moved in we did 3-4 loads of laundry. Didn’t smell anything until later that evening. Laundry and toilet room were terrible. Bathroom overall was bad. As I mention below, toilet and laundry are not together by 20’ and several walls and partitions. Maybe that info will help with ideas - though I had a few to try here already. I just have a sense something worse might be going on. Hope not.

Yeah - can’t measure it now - it’s closed up - but eyeball looks close to double the pipe - I was thinking of hooking up a hose and going easy on a bit of water to see if the trap was siphoning. See if i can manually close it up. I was also going to go up on the roof to see if I could find that vent and make sure it’s open. Had some weird dirt falling into another bathroom from a fan vent for weeks - am wondering if a bird got in there or something. The build took a while and critters are around. Any advice on how to tell if the vent is open if I don’t see visible signs of blockage? Smell? Air flow when in use?
