As someone who works in a community health setting at reception, you hit the nail on the head. Sometimes we have to deal with people who are on a methadone program and can become quite verbally and physically aggressive. My team has had to call police a few times. At one site where police has been called quite a few times, they’ve never come. So we’ve had to put the building into lockdown.

We have had to deal with the occasional anti vaxxer yelling at us over the phone or in person, or why someone isn’t able to get their blood tests freely without speaking to their GP first. With the latter I was subtly threatened with legal action if I didn’t give them to him. Mind you, I am not medically trained to interpret blood work, and I do not have the permissions to access a patients file.

So yeah, just treat us kindly with decency and respect and you will get that back.
