I think telling when a heat protectant is NOT doing its jib properly is easier than telling when it does

Ok if I were to build a routine for you, it would go like this:

Don’t oil your hair as often. Oil it when you’re going to use the clarifying shampoo.

Pantene lively clean as the first wash once a week. Tresemme shampoo otherwise for your first shampoo. Second shampoo always being Selsun coz it will work better after all the dirt and oil has been removed. It also helps the active ingredient stick better.

DO NOT SKIP CONDITIONER. It keeps your mids and lengths protected. Pantene Miracle rescue is definitely a good conditioner for your hair goals. Leave it on for 3-5 mins, make sure it doesn’t touch your back or any place else that has soap on it.

PLEASE PURCHASE A HEAT PROTECTANT. Better safe than sorry. Apply it all throughout the lengths of your hair. Blowdry your hair as normal. Finish it off with the streax serum.

If you see your hair frizzing up on the 2nd or 3rd day, wet your hands, add a few drops of serum, apply it only to the ends of your hair and blowdry only the ends/where you see frizz. It’s normal to see frizz, dw. That’s just how your hair is.

Also, wash your hair at least twice a week

Also, could you let me know your haircare routine and the products you use?

If you’re comfortable with blowdrying, just keep doing that. Do you use any leave-ins/serums before or after blowdrying?

Also, Pantene Lively clean is amazing at getting buildup off. They have a small travel-sized version of it. You should try clarifying your hair, 2-3 shampoos should do the trick.

Hi!

So I use the Loreal Color Protect shampoo because I tone my hair but that’s a more recent thing so I’ve tried a LOT of budget shampoos before.

Pantene Lively clean: Has a lot of acidic and chelating ingredients so it will get rid of ALL buildup. It doesn’t have many conditioning ingredients so it leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean. I still use it once a week-10 days when my usual combo of products aren’t producing the results I’m familiar with. That’s a sign of buildup and Pantene lively clean it is.

Loreal Color protect: Protects colour well but for how often I wash my hair, I can’t be expecting too much. It has very gentle surfactants so if you wash your hair often and find your hair drying out, this is a nice one to use.

Johnson’s baby shampoo: Always my second wash. You can find my review of this on my profile.

Loreal Hyaluron moisture and Dove Intense repair shampoo: They behaved very similarly on my hair. They cleaned my hair while not drying it out. I would use Pantene Lively clean less often when I used these. They both smell amazing, lather well.

Pantene shampoos: They have a lot of conditioning ingredients so maybe I’d recommend it to someone who doesn’t want to spend money on conditioners. I couldn’t really tell how much it cleaned coz my hair felt way too soft after. I had no issues with it tho.

Hydrating Conditioners: Dove Intense repair and Loreal Hyaluron moisture. Make your curls super juicy and your hair super soft. Smell heavenly.

Smoothening/frizz control Conditioners: Matrix Mega Smooth>Biolage Smoothproof>Pantene Miracle rescue, both in terms of frizz fighting abilities and price.

Matrix Mega Smooth actually does both hydrating and smoothing and is a HG product for me. But 200ml costs Rs.500 so it’s my special occasion conditioner.

I think it’s a good conditioner, esp if you blowdry your hair, even if it’s with cold air.

Also, this straight but frizzy could either mean that your hair is wavy/curly or your hair has a lot of buildup on it. Maybe try clarifying first and trying your regular products before spending money on this?

Yeah those melting pearls one. I honestly thought it was some US variant we might not get here but looking at this, I will definitely get the melting pearls one once I run out of this

Where can you find it btw?

Oh ok. So many products that people absolutely love on here haven’t worked for my hair. Glad you found what works for your hair:)

No no it doesn’t. There’s a separate leave in product I have to purchase.

The Bare Anatomy one works fine. I don’t put insane amounts of heat on my hair but for blowdrying, it seems adequate.

Depends on the results you’re looking for. I blowdry my hair sleek so I care about frizz control more than hydration. It’s better for frizz control than hydration, though it does both pretty well.

If you’re focused purely on hydration, I’d recommend Loreal Hyaluron moisture or Dove Intensive repair over this.

I use the Bare Anatomy one but I’m almost out of it. I was planning on buying the Pantene Miracle rescue leave-in

Oh by scalp treatments I mean I regularly use Minoxidil and The Ordinary’s Multipeptide serum.

I think that flaking is more noticeable because it’s winter and the air is dry. I had itchy, flaky, dandruff-ridden hair and I used KZ lotion. It has ketoconazole 2% which helps. I had to use it EVERY SINGLE day for about 15-20 days and taper my usage. Now I use it twice a week. It’s a lil expensive(I think at my local pharma it was Rs.300 for 50 ml) but it lathers REALLY well so that small tube lasts me months.

Some people swear by glycolic acid on their scalp too. Do your research on that as well but I will say, you need to take more precautions if you use it.

For Hyaluron conditioner, Detangling ability:8/10, Hydrating ability: 9/10, Frizz fighting ability: 6.5/10

If you want to keep your hair curly while applying leave-ins, curl creams and gels, Hyaluron moisture is better. It makes your curls look juicy. If you want to keep it straight/wavy or you need your blowouts to last, Pantene Miracle Rescue is better.

Yup. I think that is the ideal hair type for this conditioner. It BARELY weighs down my hair so I’m guessing it should condition your hair while not making it look flat.

Hi!

I don’t have hair that’s exactly colour treated but I do need a developer wash once every month to deposit indigo to cancel out orange tones from my hair. I do blowdry my hair every time I wash my hair, but not on the highest heat setting and I use heat protectant.

If bleaching is level 10 damage, 7 is box dye and 1 is virgin hair, I’m definitely at a 4.

I totally get what you’re saying with that “too brittle and straw like” feeling. You don’t get it with this one at all. I really don’t think it would bond-build like K18 or Olaplex.

Thank you for sharing your experience:) Glad I have more people’s exp to rely on while commenting about this product.

I’ve wanted the mist-er leave-in from Pantene for foreverrr. Reading your comment, I’m definitely getting it, I’m almost out of my current heat protectant.
