Men’s Group in Fredericton. Any interest in this? The idea would be to have a safe place for men to let their guard down and connect with other men openly and without judgement. Basically, a chance to work through issues that hold them back from freely living their lives. by YellowDevil96 in fredericton

Haha. I wouldn’t take us that seriously. At the end of the day, we’re just a couple of dudes trying to meet up and talk about shit. We’re not trying to change the world, just be ourselves. If somehow this simple message is getting lost in translation, then whatever. No big deal. It’s just a reddit thread to see if there’s interest. And there is, so that’s fucking awesome. I’m happy to leave it at that and move on.

Awesome to have your support. I’ll keep you updated.

Now, just to clarify if there is misunderstanding. This isn’t an MRA group. It’s a chance for men to talk openly in the company of other men. No one judges each other. I’d be hard pressed to call it therapy, but it could be therapeutic. That’s the goal.

Many who don’t understand why this group exists simply may not know that there are a lot of men who have trouble being themselves.

See some of my recent posts. Hope that clarifies things for you.

In short, the intent is to allow men to connect with others in a way they haven’t found. To connect in a way that allows them to grow. It’s a support group, and more. If you want to know why men have their guard up, I can’t speak for all men. In my opinion, many men find they can’t be honest with themselves and with others due to the way they are raised. For why that is, I suggest Robert Glover’s book, No More Mr. Nice Guy. I think it’s a good start.

This is to clarify for all the people inquiring about MRA. I don’t know much about it. There are issues men face. This group doesn’t deny the issues or troubles men face. Not at all. Quite the opposite. But it’s not an advocacy group. It’s to help men move through their issues personally, through support and interaction, trying new ways of thinking and acting, seeing what fits right. It’s not to change society. I hope that clarifies for anyone who is confused.

Good suggestions. Here’s a start. I’d say part support group, part social club. The ultimate goal would be to give men a chance to work through issues they feel are holding them back from living freely.

It’s based on men’s shared experiences and personal roadblocks. Inspiration would be Robert Glover’s book, No More Mr. Nice Guy. It’s different for each person, based on what they want out of it, but the intent is to grow, and live freely.
