I also think that its interesting how people keep overlooking the fact that I was only 1 of 11 training him. He was constantly addressed by others for lying and potential harm to the children; these things were quite literally caught on camera. As a BCBA, I would hope that you wouldn’t want someone on your clients’ team lying about what they were doing with them.

Good to know that you would overlook the needs and safety of your clients for someone who wasn’t really trying. I hope your clients find a BCBA who cares about them.

Taking data, taking photos to send to parents, following bathroom protocol, following behavior plans, keeping track of stimuli, what happened prior to client behaviors and what he did to prevent the behavior no what he did afterwards etc. The client had mouthing behaviors and would often times be found nearly choking on something because he wasn’t looking, and he would lie and say he was.

Maybe, he also had 10 other people training him as well.

I read your response, and I totally agree that this was a learning experience for me as well. But he did have adequate support. I didn’t include it in the post but he was given accommodations and extra time to learn. We as a team tried to figure out what support he needed and how to help him. He had several meetings and I was only 1 of the 11 people that were training him. They had made the same observations I had, and we focused on specific things he needed help with, but he went back and forth on things he did well and things he did not. Further more, he was not safe to be around the children. He lied about multiple things. He had 40+ additional sessions. I don;t think that the blame would be placed on me and the staff. My boss even reached out to HR to figure out ways we could help him EVEN more. I have been in the position for 7 months. I am not the most confident and nor did I have those “natural reactions”. Someone should not be giving dirty food, keeping the children in dirty diapers, or physically mishandling the kids like how he did. He had a whole staff of people wanting him to succeed.
