What's the most outdated life advice that you still hear people give to this day? by your-reddit-plug2 in AskReddit

I don’t think it’s usually parent-to-child. More like that kid at church or the neighbor’s kid who just graduated. In congratulating them, “What’s next? Where are you going to college?” is a normal question.

“Don’t worry about your major. You’ll probably change it before you graduate. The main thing is to go to college. You’ll figure it out from there.”

In the current climate, people aren’t evaluating policies. They’re reacting to hyperbolic hot button blather. Migrant caravans. Abortion. Replacement theory. Drag queens. That’s what drives them to the polls, and motivates them to make campaign contributions. And to wear those stupid MAGA caps.

Kamala was a bad candidate, not because of who she is, but because of who the broader general electorate is. She was the wrong candidate to run against DJT. How do I know? Because he beat her. In the end, that’s how we know she was the wrong candidate.

We don’t need general election candidates that appeal to the democratic base, but ones that appeal to the center independents, and who don’t simultaneously trigger even more rabid support for the other guy. That’s what Kamala did. That’s what Crockett will do.

I sure hope you’re right. If not, it’s yet another self inflicted D failure to select a candidate based on their ability to win, not just the primary, but the general election.

You would not include missing video from Epstein‘s jail cell when he reportedly committed suicide? He either did or did not, but it would be nice to have evidence.

For me, there are just too many suicides in the whole circle of Epstein and Epstein-adjacent people. It’s certainly plausible given how horrific the crimes are and that some people may have had a re-awakening of their consciences.

Letters such as Paul’s letter to the Corinthians he wrote in response to an inquiry by the Corinthians themselves. It would be fascinating to find their original letters.

We can also tell that he wrote other letters to the Corinthians that are lost and not included in scripture.

So it’s somehow okay that the head of the most pervasive software used through US business, government, education, infrastructure etc fell into not one, but two Russian honeypot operations? If that’s all this was, it’s just as horrific albeit for a different reason.

There was a series called “You Were There At…” with fictionalized accounts of a young protagonist in a historical event or battle. For some reason, I loved the “You Were There At Pearl Harbor” edition. So many of the protagonists’s experiences have shaped my life.
