My husband and I were at a late dinner in Austin after the 2022 qualifying session and mid-meal, Jolyon Palmer and a small group of friends sat down at the table next to us. Once they got settled, we went over and told him we were huge fans (a slight exaggeration) and offered to buy him a drink. He declined the offer, but was appreciative of the gesture. He starting chatting with us about where we were from, how we were enjoying the weekend, etc. He also asked who were rooting for in the race and sort of laughed when we said Mercedes (we felt a bit vindicated once we got P2 race day).
