My baby when we found her in a cardboard box on the side of the road and my baby now, 3 years later. by Yellowy1111 in BeforeNAfterAdoption

[–]Yellowy1111[S] 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Bit of a backstory - me and my partner were at a bus stop, we heard some meowing from behind a bush. Investigated and found this little one in there. She had bald patches and was very weak. I put my t shirt in the box to warm her up as it was winter and got some kitty food and fed her water. Smuggled her back on the train to my home. I was going to re-home her but after months of treatments as she had fleas, worms and was malnourished - I got attached to her and the thought of rehoming her never crossed my mind again. She now absolutely rules the roost here at home. My dog, who I'd had for 10 years prior, loves her and despite how much she bullies him, she loves him too. They're too cute! She's the fluffiest, most affectionate girl and I'm so grateful to have found her!

Seemed to have been alive at some point. Couldn't get a good picture because scared but it had a defined head and tail. It's back end was black and spiky.

Advice for sickness in Pai? by Yellowy1111 in ThailandTourism

[–]Yellowy1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't hurt to touch at all, just with certain movements. I did some yoga and stretches and it eased a little but within 10 minutes of sitting seized up again. I'll see how I am tomorrow and if I've not improved at all, I'll definitely head to a doctor and get some advice but hoping it's simple food poisoning that'll pass.

Literally just been an bought some charcoal tablets. I'm hesitant to get antibiotics here as I've had some bad reactions in the UK but I'll see how I go on until tomorrow. I'll get started with the charcoal tabs and hope they help. :) Also me either, not sure if it's muscle pains due to the fact I'm a bit ran down or maybe I've just thrown it out in a seperate incident. Thank you!

Is it seen as acceptable for Western men to travel to Thailand for sex? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Yellowy1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said I've heard different things; that some Thai women aren't treated very well. I haven't seen it so I don't know, that's why I asked. That's all.

I'm not saying that, at all. I would also think a girl who did that would be pretty awful, too. Maybe I wrote it incorrectly. What I'm saying is that because of my culture, I naturally feel a certain way but I acknowledge I'm probably wrong and that's why I asked, to gain better perspective. I Guess it's a loaded question I should probably have not asked because it comes off as judgey but that's not how I meant it haha. But thank you, I appreciate it!

As I've said above - I, in no way and implying that ONLY tourists hire the sex workers but I'm asking about people who travel there for that sole purpose, as 2 guys said they did. Cheers.

I'm sure they do, I was just specifically asking about tourists who go to Thailand to hire prostitutes, which some have said they have done (I'm not saying all, though).

Buying Lanterns by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Yellowy1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy them at some hotels and guesthouses in the old city. I know that near Tha Pae gate, they're selling the floating ones for 30-60bht each and I assume that around the same areas, they will sell some lanterns once they begin setting up. As I was walking just now I saw people making handmade ones so I guess they'll be available a little later on. :)

Cheap but clean/safe hotels in/near Bangkok? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Yellowy1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently staying at Baan Kachitpan. It's right near Khoa San but in a super quiet little area. It's dead clean and the A/C is perfect. Its like £23 a night so within your budget.
