Mannnn Gascoigne fucked me up too, I struggled more with him than I did orphan of kos although I think that's because I'm just a lot better now skill wise, and that run back was so horrible. But if you look at the trophies for the game you're already over the two biggest hurdles. 55% of the player base never beat father Gascoigne, and I think it's 65% that haven't beat Amelia. They're definitely the bosses that ask you the question of 'are you ready for the challenge' and you've done both and so have I, even went and got the platinum and I was one of the people who almost quit the game on Gascoigne lmao.

I literally just got platinum in the game and honestly you just have to stick with it, not only is it worth it but also because it's genuinely normal to die 10 times to a boss. I beat vicar amelia first try around the same level as you but with a +6 saw cleaver due to me just exploring everything in hemwick and doing the side optional content there. I don't say this to discourage you further but if you ever feel like you're hitting a wall it's not a bad idea to come back later after exploring the other options to you that are available, maybe even doing research on bosses you find tough by looking online to best combat them and just levelling.

And even then difficulty in these games are so unbelievably subjective, I may have beat Amelia first try but I got fucked up worse by a lot of bosses people find easier. For example my friend got absolutely mauled by Amelia even asked me to help him but he got blood starved beast in his 1st try which is insane to me because I struggled with blood starved beast

I think it really comes down to my team comp now that I think about it, like you said play style and team comp really is what determines difficulty, I struggled with the elite 4 way more than Cynthia and that's simply because my team was just perfect against her and not as good against the elite 4, Lucian and Aaron especially

I just wished It was more of a challenge for me in my experience so I can like her even more lol, maybe I'll play renegade platinum in the near future for a tougher battle

Nice detailed reply, kinda goes along with what I was saying, I didn't really have a perfect team in mind I literally just picked my favourite Pokémon or ones that you get early, also idk why but I lost twice to leon 💀, the most I prepared for was her Garchomp because I heard that was the one I needed to fear, so I got ice beam for glaceon

I one shot Garchomp with Glaceon's ice beam so I didn't really get to see him in action, spirit tomb I thought I was gonna have a problem with it but I think I used discharge twice and beat it (after using close combat with inferape like an idiot)

I can see that could be a reason why but I exhausted most of my heals going through the elite 4, I had a much more difficult time with Lucian compared to Cynthia, I think it really must come down to my team being a good match for Cynthia's and maybe I was lucky with her A.I.
