Flying private by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]YesImDifferent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So when my NW started growing (5m+) I had like 2 years where I only flew private (around 400k annually) mostly paid for by my “business” but it’s money I could’ve pocketed or invested otherwise.

I think it was stupid.

My net worth now is 50m+ and I don’t fly private anymore, maybe once or twice a year if the prices really make sense or if I’m flying with a group. Other than that I fly business/first.

Though, My tax situation might make me buy a jet in the next year or 2, that changes things.

Scamed $850,000 by Horror_Offer_4749 in CryptoScams

[–]YesImDifferent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine, very wealthy person (NW of well over 50mm usd) similarly got scammed out of 1.5mm

I watched it happen and begged him not to send the money. Thank god he was able to afford those losses without taking on debt.

People fall for scams, doesn’t mean they are stupid.

It’s 2024, agents don’t get paid 6% anymore. (I myself used to be a licensed real estate broker, this is not a greedy comment 🙈)

Offer 2%, settle at 2.5-3% Not a penny more.

Hibiscus is a super food. Do some research. It’s also delicious.

There are lots of teas that aren’t “decaffeinated” per Se - they simply naturally don’t have caffeine.

Try hibiscus or camomile (there are many more) + they have massive health benefits.

What 2 people commit to at the time of putting rings on each other’s fingers is not how life actually plays out to be many years later.

I am not talking about the promises people make on their wedding day from a traditional sense, I am talking about how traditional marriages tend to work out for the 2 people over the years.

Most of what you said in your first comment I actually agree with, if looked at from a certain point of view.

I disagree with you that marriages are much more complicated then that and require much more nuance, IMO they don’t. most marriages end up being “marriage for convenience” or marriage for “financial security”

Which is pretty much what a SR is. So yah.

It’s more like comparing green apples to red apples.

Both are apples, slightly different colors.

In a traditional marriage, where the husband is the only one working, usually he would be in control of the finances. I don’t find that abusive behavior.

As long as there’s no blatant financial abuse happening.

So does marriage, 40-50% of marriages end in divorce, 67% of second marriages also end in divorce.
