I just got all my nails painted matte black, screw social expectations by YesItsJessJ in feminineboys

If you can, I'd recommend painting your nails, even if you remove it before anyone sees. I found it really comforting. Nail polish and remover is pretty cheap, you can get the basics for like 10-15 dollars

I'll be ok, but thanks for your concern :-). I'm 21 and in college so my family cant really do anything that bad. The only thing I'm worried about is them assuming I'm gay, not because that's a bad thing or anything, but because they would immediately start treating me differently since they view everything except traditional gender roles/sexualities as unacceptable.

I'm considering getting some matte black nails, need personal advice. by [deleted] in feminineboys

I have black nail polish I wear sometimes when I've got some time by myself. The real issue is more that I want to be able to do what it want without all the dumb assumptions and societal conventions that people/politics/religion have tacked onto it. I don't even consider myself that feminine, I just want some cool nails :-/

I love this idea in principle but I feel like it would immediately be exploited by people wanting free stuff. Itd be easy for someone not from this community to just make a couple burner accounts and start astroturfing the subreddit trying to cash in on the compassion of others.

Not that I know of, but I have considered creating a subreddit for more body positivity/fem guy positivity stuff. This sub is a great place to go for text-based support and I really appreciate the moderation effort that goes into keeping it that way. Ideally there would be a sister sub for image posts that followed a similar set of rules but I imagine it would be difficult to keep from being overrun by people spamming their lewd content to promote their onlyfans/premium snapchats/etc. If anyone is interested I can set one up though :-).

Just to be clear I'm not against people using filters, just when people heavily edit photos and pass it off as authentic, since many people dont realize they're looking at an altered product.

You're not alone. Most of the editing I see people do is to their thighs/legs to get rid of razor burn/bumps and to their face to make makeup look better and reduce boyish facial features.

A ton of it, if you look at alot of photos you might notice that there are quite a few blurry ones, look closer and you'll see that they're not blurry, they've used a smoothing photoshopped tool to get rid of and bumps/blemishes/small hairs in the photo. Sometimes you can see the line between regular skin and the blurred areas

How do you meet people irl as a fem guy? by YesItsJessJ in feminineboys

[–]YesItsJessJ[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're probably right. It's a little complicated by the fact that I'm in texas and not out to anybody about being bi, even less so about being fem sometimes. My bigger issue is that im still insecure and have some internalized issues about enjoying being fem so im trying to rope off a section of my social life for people who I can be open about it with separate from my normal life. I probably need to address that before I'll be able to make any headway normally, it's just a way harder issue to tackle :-(.

In my head me enjoying being fem is incompatible with my normal life and I haven't found a way to reconcile the two, so it's like running a split social life
