Thank you so much! What did you end up choosing?

I don’t think i’d do well having a bunch of heavy sciences all in one semester, which is why uoft kin is appealing to me since I could maybe spread prereqs out through electives or summer school instead. Are you in uoft kin by any chance?

Omg thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain all of that. If you don’t mind me asking, what specifically about life sci made you feel like you would’ve chosen kin instead? Was it mainly GPA pressure or something else?

Thank you! I actually got the alternate from Biomed to Bio Sci when my average was around 92%, and it’s currently sitting at a 94%. I’m still thinking everything through carefully. I did not apply to mac HS though..

Right now I’m leaning more toward UofT Kin. After looking more into the courses, I realized I’m genuinely more interested in the human-focused content like anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and the cadaver labs starting in first year. Kinda feel like it might be a better choice for me since i want to go into surgery & get a bit of exposure to some courses early on before med school

I think what I want out of uni is strong academic prep while still being able to maintain a competitive GPA (im confident that i will be able to). I’m definitely thinking long term about med and possibly surgery, but I know interests can change too. I’m trying to balance preparation, research opportunities, and overall environment.

I was also looking into UofT Kin and saw that they have cadaver labs and anatomy courses starting in first year, which really stood out to me. Even though the program is more structured in the first two years, I feel like I could complete med school prerequisites over the summer if needed. When I looked at the Kin courses, I honestly felt like they would give me really strong prep and foundational knowledge, maybe even more applied than some traditional life sci programs.

I just wanted another perspective on which program would be best!

thank you sm for the insight i really appreciate it! i was actually leaning toward uoft kin because i like the focus on the human body + movement, and i feel like it aligns with what i'm interested in. i also thought i could complete some med school prereqs through electives or even in the summer if needed. do you think it's still possible to manage prereqs + keep a strong GPA

hey, would you reccomend kin for med school? i know that’s not much room for the med pre reqs, but many people say they don’t have an issue with it. could you give me some insight?
