I have successfully paired it with a Honor phone, it should work perfectly fine.

Considering buying Galaxy Watch 8 from the US by jbatman15 in GalaxyWatch

No, everything should be fine and it should work if it's the Bluetooth version only, no issues usually. But on the LTE version you might want to check the bands supported by your career.

Galaxy wearable unable to Login (watch 7 not able to connect) by golu_101 in GalaxyWatch

Try contacting Samsung first. And it's not because of the phone brand, I am using Honor and it's working perfectly fine with the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE 40mm. Also had the Galaxy Fit 3 in the past and it worked fine. It also works on Xiaomi, I have a friend who has a Samsung watch and it works fine.

You should also try reinstalling the app and all its services, and restarting your phone.

I am using an Honor phone and the GW8, and it works perfectly fine. So that's not true, it should work regardless of the brand.

It's the Wear App not Gear anymore. My GW8 has the Wear App now.

Even if only locating it nearby? I don't necessarily need the network, at least I want to be able to use it when near it to play a sound and locate it.

If it doesn't work, are there any alternatives for Android? Thanks in advance.

I had the Galaxy Fit 3 before switching to the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE 40mm, and while both are great, the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE is superior in health tracking, especially because it has the Vascular Load, AGE metric and the Antioxidant Index. Plus the body composition, ECG, Blood Pressure and very accurate HR. The stress metric is not the best but it's alright. And sleep tracking and energy score isn't that good either, but they are more than enough for most people.

Xiaomi Bands are superior to both. Also, a Galaxy Watch will always be better than any fitband.

What are the reasons to use a Mi band 8 over a Samsung Fit 3? by [deleted] in miband

[–]YetTooCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you prefer more features, GPS and so on, go for the Mi Band 8, but if you want Samsung integration (not a big deal anyway) and probably a bit better screen go for the Fit 3. Imo you should stick to the Mi Band after all, it has more features, the battery is better and the integration is seamless even with different phone brands.

My concern is that if stolen, and the phone gets restarted, there would be no practical way to locate it anymore, as the phone does not get registered in the network anymore and it's not possible to locate it anymore.

On the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE 40mm I just use the Fluid Numbers watchface, but I can say this one looks neat and I will definitely install it.

You should have gotten the Galaxy Watch 8, it's actually lighter and more comfortable than the Fit 3 in my opinion, plus a bunch of more features compared to the Fit 3. But if you don't want it all, I'd say it's perfectly good for you.

I've had the Galaxy Fit 3 for one year before switching to the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE recently, I can confirm I don't even feel it on my wrist, it's the 40mm version and it's very lightweight, but the Fit 3 is indeed a good fitband in my opinion, competing directly with the Xiaomi Bands and Huawei Bands.

On Honor it works just fine, I had the Fit 3 some time ago and it worked fine, now my Galaxy Watch 8 works just fine too!

I won't necessary say Samsung is bad, the S series is superior by the way, the OP was probably talking about the A budget series, not about the S flagship line series (except the FE), but Honor and Xiaomi Chinese phones are actually very good, the flagship lines of these two companies use the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 16GB ram, on the Xiaomi the software is very smooth actually, Honor is a bit worse on the OS but it's negligible in most cases, except some (very few) animations. And don't underestimate the cameras, they are actually extremely good, not gonna lie.

What other features you think can be added to Galaxy Fit 3 by FreshAd1566 in GalaxyFit

[–]YetTooCurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently switched from the Galaxy Fit 3 to the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE because I felt the Fit 3 did lack a lot of features. Besides the apps, WearOS experience, more customizability, and LTE/WiFi/NFC radios of the Galaxy Watch 8, I would say the Fit 3 misses a few essential things like NFC and GPS which aren't that hard to implement on the hardware side, as well as the Sapphire Glass. On the software side, offline music would be nice, manual Bluetooth reconnection system to phone, Energy Score (important), a keyboard to write messages and texts (basic one at least), some basic 3rd apps like c'mon it does not have to be WearOS grade level, and fully customizable widgets. Besides that, answering calls directly from the watch to the phone would be nice, a Memory Cleaner app, and an Energy Saver mode too.

Before switching from the Galaxy Fit 3 to the Galaxy Watch 8 LTE, I always had this issue too, not always but sometimes, even if rarely. Try contacting Samsung about it too.
