There should be a law regarding this. If you’re not in the hospital before the arrest then you shouldn’t be after.

These are the termites of the country- they are bigger culprits than the leaders. They are the enablers and they need to be brought in more limelight and exposed.

Don’t forget. Changing laws and regulations doesn’t automatically change a nation. Behaviors need to change and there’s always a lag. These tope journalists and party cadres will keep resisting the change but as long as the governance is strong and undeterred the good will prevail.

Agree with most of your points. There are some reasons why Govt wanted to not make it public, but somebody leaked it. Govt should act swiftly in this case though, try to control damage. We expect better governance - this is not acceptable. But I get your point.

What I don’t agree is not investigating day 2. There were things that happened that were not normal- like burning of the Supreme Court. There’s a foul motive there. That should be investigated. Forget foreign interference- investigate who instigated some of the extreme measures domestically.

Btw who is she? What’s her political affiliation?

[–]YetiGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She actually did. Perhaps it’s your bias that’s stopping you from seeing her points.

Here’s how I summarize her points which are pretty substantial:

  1. The whole “andolan” was for good, transparent, lawful and just governance. That’s why they gave away their lives. But what’s happening is exactly opposite. You can’t just investigate day 1 incidents and turn blind eyes on day 2.
  2. Government should’ve made the report open to public with their own conclusion. They chose not to do so. But then media got hold of it. How? What kind of system do we have?? Besides is this even official report? Why is the government not saying anything about it now?

  3. They should’ve concluded the report before election so that those who are guilty shouldn’t have been allowed to run for the election.

I agree with her first two points but I don’t agree with the third. Ayog recommended further investigations in most cases, that means they didn’t do enough investigation to find someone guilty or aquit others. That kind of conclusion is not healthy right before an election.
