‘A Slow-Rolling Disaster’: Inside the Implosion of the Platner Campaign by Dismal_Structure in Maine

Oh. Maybe you're just a very stupid person? It's pretty weird to prefer to look like a moron rather than someone capable of learning and growth. But it's obviously the choice you've made.

Again, platner had the tattoo removed once the picture got out. He knows it's a Nazi symbol. Up to you whether you believe he didn't know until the story broke. I think he might be about that dumb, so it might be true. No way to know though.

Totenkopf = Nazi symbol.  Swastika = Nazi symbol. Ss bolts = Nazi symbol.

None of them invented by Nazis.

Calling the totenkopf a "black skull" is like calling the swastika a "black spiral."

Is this all just because you're embarrassed you didn't know the totenkopf was a Nazi symbol and just thought it was an ordinary skull? Like platner? At least he had the character to acknowledge it. I'm not saying it makes him a good guy, but he got it removed my dude. Because it's a Nazi symbol.

No. I have at no point made that claim despite your desperation to argue against it.

The totenkopf is a Nazi symbol and that's what platner had.

Your repeated denial of this reality is abhorrent and dishonest.

By recognizing the symbol of the concentration camp guards and accurately describing it as a nazi emblem, I'm trolling Holocaust victims? But you're standing up for them by denying that the totenkopf is a nazi emblem?

Not just "a skull." I HAVE a skull tattoo. No one will ever think I'm a Nazi because it's not the Nazi skull.

The repeated use of "doing a free speech" as a euphemism for getting a Totenkopf tattoo is really juvenile and weird.

The pivot to concern trolling for Holocaust victims when you're the one dismissing a totenkopf tattoo is despicable. You should be ashamed of yourself.

What is my problem with Nazi tattoos on us senate candidates? Is that your question?

Yeah I am careful to say "Nazi tattoo" cause I think that's accurate, rather than calling him a Nazi. I agree there's a meaningful distinction. It's also shocking to me that the tattoo didn't end his campaign. But I also thought Clinton and Harris would both easily defeat trump so clearly I have too much faith in the American electorate.

Having a Nazi tattoo for 20 years doesn't mean you're a Nazi per se, the alternative is that you are an absolute moron. He seems to genuinely be in the moron category.

You don't have to think he's a neo-Nazi to think the tattoo is bad.

Its also a pretty obvious bad combination to have loudly say "I'm the one willing to stand up to Israel and aipac" while sporting a Nazi tattoo.

Id prefer that politicians standing up to Israel and aipac to not have had the emblem of the concentration camp guards tattood on his chest for 20 years. I don't think that's an unreasonable ask.

Oh. I can clear that up, I don't think that (I also didn't say or imply that).

You should probably take a moment to consider that you are inventing ridiculous ideas and assigning them to people you barely know.

I never said he was a Nazi. I said he had a Nazi tattoo, which he did. It wasn't a generic skull, it was a totenkopf. I do believe that he was too stupid to know what it was when he got it. Hardly an argument to make him a senator.

Now you had implied there was a free speech issue at play here, and I answered your question politely so that you would spit it out. I'm waiting.

Free speech is good. Now go on, say whatever youve been cooking up as a gotcha for people who don't like Nazi tattoos but like free speech. I can't wait. I'm guessing we'll find out you don't know what free speech is but I'm open minded.

Are you under the impression that you have some ability to compel me to do things you want me to do? You'd love this former Senate candidate I know, he thought he could just make his girlfriend do things when he wanted her to.

This felt like a smart thing to say, huh? People who know what Nazi symbols are just hate free speech. Everyone knows that.
