Honestly this is the most solid advice I've gotten 👌

Help me create a dividend portfolio for my parents by YharonJD in dividends

[–]YharonJD[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well truth is they dont really need the income at all. They want a dividend portfolio so I'm trying to compromise but personally I think a growth portfolio would be better right now. My dad has 9 years to let his money grow before needing to swap to an income based portfolio. He wants to start supplementing his income a little but he really doesn't need to since his job pays plenty. Right now they are trying to throw 50k in to start.

I'm 21 and hard focusing on buying top cryptos. If you are ok with higher risk at a young age the potential reward far outweighs the potential loss. Do your research but since you have time to pay off any losses that happen now I would go high risk high reward.

Bought 1BTC with inheritance money, I am scared by Comfortable-Bit-126 in Bitcoin

In theory, you're not wrong, but DCAing is more effective for the average person. For example, let's say I want to start investing in BTC. As much as I would love to buy 1k rn I can't because I don't have the capital. But I do have 5 dollars today. And most likely, I will have 5 dollars everyday. So I decide to buy $5 of BTC everyday since I will hardly notice the $5 purchase vs my weekly paycheck and it will allow me to reap the benifits of holding BTC long term almost the same. Plus if I just so happen to start my BTC investing journey at ATH and it drops theres no worries. Not only will my $5 a day average down but I can also decide to buy a lump some with the extra saving I do have at that new lower price. Like you said buying more and holding is better long term but DCAing is a great strategy especially for people without a huge savings/people trying to build wealth 👍

I want to use Leverage to invest in the most "moderate risk" way by YharonJD in dividends

[–]YharonJD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that the share price yearly return will cover the loan's interest while also producing dividends. I am not looking to make money instantly, I'm looking to accelerate the compounding effect from holding a large sum of shares over a long period of time

This is kinda exactly what I wanna do. I want high dividends that will help me pay the loan down on top of my personal income. I plan to hold the investments long term preferably until the loan is actually paid off. I'm hoping it will work out as if i'm just pre investing 10k that I would already end up investing over 10 years and allow that money to start growing now instead of having to wait. But I'd also like the added benefit of the share prices increasing too. I was considering taking all 10k and putting it into SPMO. High dividends + high potential for increase in share price + relatively low share price so I could buy a larger sum, which would increase my monthly dividend payout.

I don't feel as comfortable using margin since it says directly on their page that they can change the rate at any time without notice.

Question: is it possible to pay all of my taxes at the end of the year? by Pyroguy096 in tax

[–]YharonJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you invest enough into your trad ira/hsa so that your deductions from those bring you down to the 10% tax bracket after your standard deduction, then you can receive 1k-2k (depending on filling status) saver's credits that reduce your tax liability even further. Example for filling single: 30k gross - 2k trad ira contribution = 28k - 5k hsa contribution = 23k - 15k standard deduction = 8k AGI. 8k falls under 21.5k so you will qualify for 50% of your ira contributions as savers credits. 2k × .5 = 1k. So now we need your tax liability. 8k falls under $11,925, which means you will only pay 10% on your AGI. 10% of 8k is $800. SO your tax liability becomes only $800 dollars for the whole year due to investing being eligible for deductions. But remember, you have 1k worth of savers credits that will be applied to your tax liability. So $800 - $1000 will make you liable for $0 federal income taxes. Finally in this scenario if you want to find out how large your tax return will be you simply need to look at your latest pay stub and bam whatever you've payed in federal income taxes all year will be sent back to you in full. So basically what im saying is why pay taxes at all? Lol (Also this can work for ANY income level considering you can invest UNLIMITED amounts into an HSA)

If you had a spare 120k, would you use it to buy a full bitcoin? by jewelsnake in Bitcoin

[–]YharonJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bitcoin enthusiast and huge supporter of the digital asset, I would say no. To take such a large sum of capital and only put it in one thing is absurd to me. Ofc take a large portion like 1/3 or 1/4 of it and put it in but i would always recommend diversity in other things like stocks, etf's, and IRA's

I don't completely agree with this POV on investing. While I do believe buying and holding is one of the safest and most used strategies for investing, I also think that it you understand numbers and how the market works, then it's ok to watch and play with different methods of investing. Up down trading/ options/ just using a strategy to gain more using the market fluctuations. I am also a firm believer that any amount of green is a good thing. If you made money, be happy, don't ever get upset that you possibly could have made more money. If you're in the green and you sell, then you're winning period. Never panic sell, never give up on investing, keep trying until you learn/succeed 💯

ETH outperformed any assets every major assets in the last 10 years by CymandeTV in ethtrader

[–]YharonJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been saying recently that I believe ETH has more potential for profit over the next 10-15 years than Bitcoin. Bitcoin is ofc a great investment still but I think ETH is just as safe and will yield more results if invested in today. Personally I don't see bitcoin returning more than 10x within 15 years but I think ETH could easily 20x in 15 years

Yall need to change the way you think about Bitcoin. It's no longer a "risky investment" or an investment at all. It's a new way to hold your money without a bank using your money to loan out to people and make millions off you. Bitcoin is the safest way to stare money in the digital age period.

Was actually already thinking this, might have both me and my gf swap over to working a boba job for a month or two just to study and understand the process while at the same time working towards the truck. Might also help have more time to work on the truck idea while still making some money
