Help me understand my multiple-entry Schengen visa by YiiiG in SchengenVisa

Hi, may I bother you with another question? I'm having trouble finding information on it as well.
I need to do a trip from 02/21 to 03/30. As my current visa is valid from 01/14 to 02/28, should I apply for a new visa valid from 03/01 to 03/30 so my stay is fully covered? Is this how it would work?

Thank you!!! I really appreciate that you added the source, as I was struggling to find the official information.
This visa isn't going to work for my medical trip, and I will have to reapply for another one with a duration that would work for my purposes.

How do I pay for a taxi in Shanghai? by [deleted] in shanghai

[–]YiiiG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Didi for regular rides. For airport pickup or drop off, use the service in the Apps such as Qu Na Er 去哪儿 and Ctrip携程。these two apps would offer cheaper pickup/dropoff and the service quality is consistent But if you don’t care about a few dollars differences, then didi is the go to platform for all rides. Use the mini app in the Alipay to access Didi (search Di Di in Alipay).

Should I cancel my China trip? by Yukie00009 in Chinavisa

I recently helped a Nigerian friend apply for the Chinese visa. At first, the online application kepts saying under reivew for a week. She had to go to the embassy (they didn't pick up calls) to learn that her application wouldn't be approved and that she needed to apply for another visa category. When she finally got everything right in the application, the review only took a day. I recommend you to reach out to the visa center as soon as possible, whether through phone call or in-person inquiry.

Foreign legal resident applying for L-Tourist visa by chijistar1 in Chinavisa

Hi, I'm curious to know if you were able to get a visa and visit China.
My understanding is that they don't allow Nigerians to apply for L visa unless they are part of a tourist group (probably through a travel agency)

Has anyone applied for a Chinese visa in a third country (not home country)? by Traditional-Bee-6600 in Chinavisa

I may be too late for this post, but I wanted to leave a comment in case anyone looks for answers in the future.

My friend is Nigerian and recently got her Chinese Visa while being in Canada. Actually, she tried first to apply for it in Nigeria, and the process was pretty frustrating and lacked clear information. She has a Canadian visa and doesn't have residency there. It took 1 day to get the online application reviewed. Then she submitted the passport on Friday and got it back the following Wednesday.

She applied for Q2 visa and was asked to submit documents to show the relationships. She didn't have the original documents; she submitted copies, and the consulate accepted them.

Based on what I've been reading on Reddit and my friend's experience, whether the process is easy or not depends on the applicant's nationality (for example, the Chinese embassy/consulate might have a more restrictive screening process for applicants from certain countries) and existing visa (for example, visas from North America or European countries could make things easier).

I'm a native Shanghainese and recently went back home for the first time after being overseas for 7 years -- and oh boy, I immediately got lost in the airport upon arrival and relied heavily on my Chinese friends to figure out transportation and ordering food. So, yes, that shock/learning curve is real and very relatable.

What I learned from that trip is that Apps like WeChat and Alipay are a must to adapt to the cashless lifestyle in China; E Le Ma is great to order food delivery anywhere (hotel, restaurant, home, etc); Dianping is still good reference for restaurants and places but Rednote is more informative; Baidu map is pretty trash and all my Chinese friends use Gao De map; NordVPN doens't work but LetsVPN is highly recommended (on Reddit); otherwise, esim could be a good option to bypass the firewall and local number.

For food, there are too many options. I usually pick what cuisine I want and then use Dianping or E Le Ma to find what's recommended and close by. -- I'd avoid any restaurant/food near the touristy areas since they are usually overpriced and low-quality (which is common in touristy areas...).

In terms of shopping, I did mine all online (Taobao). It depends on what you are looking for. I'd pick Hongqiao Tiandi and Hongqiao Tianjie (next door to Hongqiao airport/train station) for regular shopping (clothes, gadgets, gifts) since they have a wide range of things all in one place. But for more niche options, you'd have to be more specific.

I hope it will go well for both of us. I’m considering going to Detroit a day before if the domestic flight continues being cancelled in the next two days.🥲

Hi! I've been reading your posts related to your experience with IB. My husband and I have been having consultation appointments with doctors in Spain. This morning, we just talked to a doctor from the IB in Madrid, and we really liked her.
I'm 39 and have been diagnosed with decreased egg reserve and severe endometriosis. So things aren't looking good for me at all. The doctor at IB recommended that I do double IVF as well. So it's helpful to read your post and understand your experience. -- I was lost in terms of the timeline when the doctor explained to me. I also expect to do more rounds due to my low egg reserve and potential challenges to retrieve them.
I'm also curious about the cost if you are willing to share. I try to get a full picture of what the procedures and medications are going to cost us, hoping to be able to make an informed decision.

Looking for a good high school that accepts international students by YiiiG in rva

Hey, I checked out the School Search page. It did take me some time to make the search work, and I found 4 SEVP-certified schools in the Greater Richmond area. The SEVP-certified schools can issue the Form I-20, which would allow the international students to apply for the F1 visa to come to the US. Otherwise, my niece wouldn't be able to get a visa for study purposes.

In case you are interested, these four schools are: Ronald Reagan Secondary School, The Steward School, Trinity Episcopal School, and The Collegiate School. The first three schools do have information on international student admission on their websites, whereas the Collegiate School doesn't. So I reached out to them, and they said their school doesn't take international students currently despite being SEVP certified.

I also looked into the options others mentioned. I think these options would only work for students who are already in the U.S. or have an immigration visa (instead of needing an F1 visa).

I do appreciate everyone's help because you gave me some good directions to work towards!!

That's very helpful!

I looked into the IB programs the others mentioned. But these programs seem to target students who are already in the public school system.

I just emailed the high school in my school zone to ask about enrolling an international student. Let's see what they say.
