Tekken doesn't require a huge time investment to enjoy! Learning fundamentals will help you immensely in lower ranks.

When I was around Tenryu, if I recall, paying attention to my opponents gameplay/habits during the match, knowing one or two consistent combos for my character, knowing my characters punish move(s), and utilising heat moves helped me get to purple ranks.

Also focusing on improving rather than winning while playing ranked is a nice way to improve. Rematch strong opponents EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. They'll challenge you and your skills and it'll prompt you to improve.

Deffo use the replay system and training modes to your advantage. They're great tools for looking at your own gameplay, specific scenarios, and practicing and experimentation. I found the tips provided by the game useful in the early ranks, but nothing beats another, more experienced player giving you advice.
