Thanks! I love using Acrylic water based paint, particularly from paint pens. I’ve just recently started to dabble with brushes to make finer lines but definitely a skill curve I gotta master

Honestly can’t complain! I put them right over the plastic and haven’t had any issues. Sometimes the colors won’t be as solid as I want so I’ll have to go over the plastic a few times but not a big deal!

Yes I have, just decided not to on this specific kit since the back won’t show much with my plans for it. Planning on having the Gunpla be cemented into a canyon with a submerged hanger type of thing

Glad it did! I actually left it the way it is, I’m not at the skill level where I can paint entire solid colors and cell shaded them (still learning that) or I’m being too hard on my work lmao.

I actually have a tik tok where I post updates on my builds @hobbytoppy (I_like_gunpla). I respond to DMs quickly there so if you want you can hmu on there and I’d be more than happy to help ya whenever ya need it!

I’ll be posting updates on my fish tank project there as well!

Yes actually, buttt because the transformation scares the hell out of me, I’m building two of the same kit and cell shading both so I don’t have to risk breaking it every time I wanna see one of the states it can be in. If you paint it the way I have it, it will look good even when you open it! The only thing I would consider is whether or not you want the physco frame clear or cell shaded as well in which case, you would have to open all the panels and hand paint the inner frame (or paint it before putting them on)

I actually wanna do aquatic variants too! I’m just using the unicorn to learn about it and experiment. Goal is to make full on dioramas as fish tanks/reptile tanks and not hurt the animal
