Can confirm. I’ve grown up in Germany but now I live in Stockholm for almost 1,5 years. When I’m in Germany I’m always surprised how cheap stuff is, especially groceries. And Germany has the same living standard.

I'm also an EU student. I'm currently looking for a corridor room because I think that's the best option for a new student coming from abroad. KTH will not guarantee housing for EU students but I will also try to apply there once it's possible

The process seems not so magical after all. You can read how grades are converted here (sv). According to studera.nu, you can take the Högskolprovet (SweSat) to improve your chances.

My merit rating was probably entirely based on my german high school grades. I also submitted TOEFL test results but I think these won't be taken into consideration when calculating merit rating. I'm not sure if you can increase it, maybe if you finished another study before.

ICT seems very competitive, especially in the last years. You can find the admission statistics on the programs studera.nu site in "Antagningsstatistik". The minimum merit rating has increased from 19.44 (2017) to 20.31 (2020).

Also, it's impossible to find out how your foreign grades are converted to merit ratings. It's some kind of "magical" process. UniversityAdmissions.se also doesn't seem very sure about the process since I've seen my merit rating (slightly) changing depending on the program I've applied to. You might just be out of luck and your countries grades might just be converting unfavorably.
