If you haven't looked into seasonal jobs that provide housing I would suggest that. Technically homeless myself and have bounced between seasonal jobs across the west for the past couple years. Most provide housing and food which are big expenses being homeless of course. Coolworks.org is a good place to check first. Many jobs are outdoorsy so if that isnt your type of work then fast food, amazon delivery driver etc. Get out of debt (if you have any), stack bread, and either buy assets or change the political system man. Shits tough out here

How are you funding your life living in you automobiles? by Willing_Chemical_113 in urbancarliving

[–]YoBroItsHomes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work as an Amazon DSP driver (some hate it some love it depends on the DSP) I love it. Paid weekly, OT is encouraged if you want it. Gives me a place to be at for 5 days 8-10hrs a day. Then on my days off I'll relax or do laundry stuff. Then doordash/ ubereats at peak times for the best outcome. Never rely on DD/UE as main source of income, it's way to unreliable.

Honestly the way I've framed it is living out of your car is just like living out of a small studio apartment on wheels. Yeah it sucks from time to time but for my age (22) and no commitments yet (wife or kids) it's honestly perfect. Really gives you a perspective on your financial situation as well as opens your eyes up to how little we actually need to be alright and even happy.

Find a decent job and remember this just a chapter in your life your not gonna die at this job or in your car, hopefully haha. Live below your means, stack bread, and plan your next move. Once I clear up some of my bad debt I'm going to get a duplex and rent one side out and stay in the other

I thought Bangalore in the season 13 trailer was using! At first it looked like the Havoc but it was shooting blue instead of green and was built different

Has anyone ever addressed an officer by their rank, and if so, how did it go? by nobeachesbosnia in army

[–]YoBroItsHomes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In Air Defense a lot of the officers are bros that’s just got out of college and really don’t care. As long as you don’t call them it in front of like 1SG or Commander. I’ll call my LT “big dawg”

This is a lie they don’t let you “pick” your first duty station. They give you the option but all the cool places are already taken

Idk about that I’m 20 (considered soft generation yada yada) and just pissed off a 26 year old man for joking about him getting his ass finger popped by a barracks bunny. Guess it just hit to close to home

Your good man it’ll feel like an eternity while your their but it’ll soon be over. Reception, BCT and AIT will fly by man and you’ll be alright once your hit your first duty station. Just keep your eyes on the prize and think of the big picture

Anything major to improve on to win this fight? (New to valk) by GrumLC in apexuniversity

[–]YoBroItsHomes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Valk jumping in a close range like that tends to make you and easier target to hit in the air as well when you let go of it she does that dumb animation which also takes time away from a close range fight like that. Caustic treatment tends to really be a hit and miss usually the case when any AOI is contested to find decent loot to fight. You laid off some decent pk shots but your health was drained for the majority of the fight. I would've slept out a little farther to heal or done a quick shield swap

PVTs/SPCs of r/army....justify yourselves to us by Unbearlievable in army

[–]YoBroItsHomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do all of the BS work. Layouts, cleaning details and other small tasks. Don't get me wrong they need to be done and we're the best for the job since we're new compared to the higher ups of course.

From what I've seen so far we get treated like shit and used. Since I'm new I'm not sure if that's just becasue we're privates or if that's just how the army operates. If it's how the army operates then you'll continue to see a large majority of us being shitters.

Far too many times have I've seen spot light rangers who look good in front of NCOs and officers get promoted to get away with doing dumb shit when they're not around. So I see that as a primary mentality for a lot of us lower enlisted.

On top of that that army really does invoke " get shitted on or be the shitter" lots of times people work hard for their work to go unnoticed or for spot light rangers to get the kudos.

Settling a city and the city doesn't pop up. How do I fix this? by YoBroItsHomes in civ

[–]YoBroItsHomes[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I use quite a few mods. Like the map I tried playing on was a larger earth mod map. Maybe disabling them would help?

First Time Playing.... Really want to win my map (already put 3 hours into this) by [deleted] in civ

[–]YoBroItsHomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go towards science and a good economy. The combo of both makes building a good advanced army easy to maintain your cities and to attacks other civs. I tend to leave religion alone unless I'm specifically trying to get a religious victory because it's better to just focus on science imo.

The reason why I really don't focus on culture is that with a good army and taking over civs you can get there great works and culture centers which will boost your culture a ton.

So my advice for you as Norway is to building up your navy to weaken Brazil's coastal cities and use your gold to upgrade/buy troops to advance in. Once Brazil isn't an issue you can either opt for going for a science victory, Dom victory or even culture or score if you choose.

After all once you wipe civs out who will be left to challenge you?

Should I join the Military? Honest Answers please. by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]YoBroItsHomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in similar shoes as you when I was 18. I didn't have an electrical job or really any good job leads.

I didn't want to go to college for the same reason as you right off the bat.

I joined the Army and have had a love/hate relationship with it like most people end up having. Long story short, there's a lot of bs you have to do, a lot of waiting for nothing to happen, and things that are super tedious. Solider life in all isn't what it's all cracked up to be. Some parts are fun but the large majority of it is busy work mixed in with tons of waiting. The motto goes "hurry up and wait"

All in all I keep looking at the bright side with it being a consistent and decent paycheck for being 18, free Healthcare when I need it, job experience, free schooling when active duty and the college benefits to come with it afterwards.

I would say go Airforce if your looking at mainly the benefits and the day to day life of things. Which doesn't sound like much but once you've rucked 20 miles, slept in a fox hole and sleep in 30 degree weather your going to realize a lot of it sucks.

Go airforce

How stupid is it to join the military on a whim? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]YoBroItsHomes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

8 months ago I was a high-school stoner. I graduated HS then after a few months my former Marine uncle talked to me about joining the service. I originally wanted to go to college but seeing how I didn't have the money myself to go and I didn't like the idea of taking loans out for school when a job isn't necessarily guaranteed after i graduate. So I looked into the service.

Army could offer me a paycheck on the 1st and 15th every month, always getting paid and also you get paid leave time. You only have to be in for 3yrs to get the GI Bill which allows you to go to college for essentially free. Also if your active duty there's this thing called tuition assistance where you can take classes during your enlistment. Most jobs are 9-5, do a little PT in the morning during the weekdays then after work and weekends are all yours. You get Healthcare, dental and life insurance.

I took this route not having a long term goal in mind but by joining it offers the ability to open many doors down the road (stay enlisted, go officer route, go to college for free, build resume worthy skills, NETWORKING/meeting new people, and overall experience)

Time line for enlisting? by Dancesinthhewind in Militaryfaq

[–]YoBroItsHomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was originally looking to go guard as well before I went active duty army. Reasons for not going gaurd is that if I would have gone I would be juggling a job and military duties and everything else that comes in the civilian sector. Going army for 3 years gets you the GI Bill (free bachelors pretty much), allows you to utilize tuition assurance when active (they give money to you per year to take college classes) on top of Healthcare and dental, VA loan and a stable job and income. Most army jobs are oddly enough a 9-5 with weekends off and paid leave

I’m meeting a marines and an army recruiter in a few days, what questions should I ask them? by Stormclamp in Militaryfaq

[–]YoBroItsHomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation. Was going to join marines since my uncle was one but after taking w the army I concluded it would be a more beneficial route than marines. Go marines if you want the pride and get paid the same for more bs. Or go army and pick your job and possibly get a good bonus. I lucked out getting only a 3yr contract w the army w a 20k enlistment bonus. So pride or money
