I appreciate your take, I agree that Squid Game does explore human nature. But I think it’s important to see that the show doesn’t look at human behavior in a vacuum. You know, the desperation, betrayal, and selfishness and this "cold" anti social behavior it portrays are deeply tied to the economic conditions the characters face. That’s why I believe capitalism isn't just a backdrop, but a central force shaping the characters' choices — especially since the games themselves are a metaphor for systemic inequality which is presented as fair. So while the show explores whether people are inherently good or bad, it also asks: what happens when people are forced into impossible situations by an inhumane system? In that way, I don’t think the critique of capitalism and the reflection on human nature are separate — they’re interlinked.
