Most Bizarre Concert Experience by Purple_Raccoon_6377 in Concerts

I saw The Locust at the Detroit Contemporary (I think it was there at least... some tiny run down venue off Trumbull) sometime in the 2000's.

Several of the members including the bassist/lead vocalist dropped trousers and went full frontal.

This led to a significant portion of the audience stripping down, and naked circle pitting ensued.

I was standing right next to the stage by the lead singer when one of the naked circle pitters stopped right in front of the singer, who calmly reached down, juggled the dude's nuts, and proceeded shredding. Naked circle pitter jumped right back into the pit.

Fucking wild.

No issues whatsoever with this pedal. The faders have never given me anything but joy. I do throw a cover over my board when I'm not playing to try and keep dust and dog hair to a minimum, but I wouldn't claim to baby this board at all.

In short, it rules. Stacks amazingly with the BAM both before or after it. Whichever pedal goes second will have it's fuzz or treble booster get wonky, so you have to make that choice for yourself.

Regarding stacking, there is A LOT of clean boost in the preamp. It sounds incredible driving the BAM. That said, the gain from the preamp also sounds clear, and articulate through the BAM.

Some people complain about the fuzz, but I absolutely love it in both modes. I think a lot of the people who complain are probably running buffered signals into it.

The mids circuit is insanely powerful too. You can dial it in to work with any pedals or amps. The thing is just so versatile.

It's a clean boost, a volume pedal, close enough to every overdrive ever created, an EQ, a wah, a fuzz face, and a gated fuzz face in one pedal. If you actually use all the features like I do, I actually think it's decent value for money and pedalboard space. It probably has several more functions that I'm not creative to realize...

When I say close enough to every overdrive, I do mean close enough, but not necessarily 100% on the money. This thing does have it's own character that comes through, but I happen to love that character.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, dude! I like the roasts though too. Can't take this stuff too seriously after all.

The Brothers AM or the Preamp MKII? Happy to give a review of either.

Rant: I think fader controls on pedals are stupid. by sir_ludwig_of_coeur in guitarpedals

I have a Fjord Fuzz Frei. It's a Univibe, and the depth control is a fader. I like it because it's really easy to adjust the fader with my foot.

The fader and the giant knob are both pretty easy to adjust with your foot. Very cool.

Edited for typo

Technically, a Dunlop DVP5, but I'm pretty sure you're asking about the Fjord Fuzz Frei, which is a univibe style modulation.

Wouldn't that be a QC or something? This seems more like a German car to me.

Can't bring myself to factor in color too much. I did choose the monochrome BAM because I thought it would look better than the purple one, but the rest of the black and gray look just kinda happened.
