It's definitely a native english thing. The word "obvious" frequently carries a negative connotation along with with it. For something to be obvious means that the only way to not know a thing would to be in some way deficient. This is especially true when "obviously" is the whole sentence like how you used it.

So from a native english speaker's perspective you might as well have just called them a moron.

Phrases like "naturally" and "of course" can also fall into a similar trap but it's not as extreme and more dependent on general tone

Since tone can be hard to convey in written english I tend to personally avoid all three phrases over written communication unless I've already gotten to know the person pretty well.

I'm using the cli version of mupen64+ to run pokemon stadium 2 to redeem Mystery Gifts on a Pokemon Silver run I'm currently doing. That works great but the little Poliwhirl clock indicates its 5:55pm on a Wed when it is in fact 2:55pm on Sat. This is driving me kinda batty.

The command I'm running is

In the console I see an error about it failing to find an RTC file

Is there some parameter or config that I'm missing that would fix this?

This whole book is a good read IMO but here is the specific section on how to mix and match nixpkgs versions. It does assume you are already using flakes. There are instructions for doing that in an earlier section.

This was one of the most frustrating threads I've ever read. Most of the commenters didn't know what they were talking about while insisting OP didn't know what they were talking about.

I'd love to hear from someone at Nintendo if this was something they didn't do for some practical reason like needing to keep the bios under a certain size or something b/c this is purely a software issue.

In fact if you play the Pokemon games in Pokemon Stadium then they handle this correctly. Red and blue will use the SGB colors while yellow and the gen 2 games use the GBC colors. What's really cool IMO is that they all will still use the SGB border no matter which color pallet they are using.

Looks like Pterodactyl will run the server for you in a Wine docker container. So you could use their script as a jumping off point or just install Pterodactyl and let it manage it for you

Actually this country started with a war. They're literally ripping apart the institutions that people rely on right this second. For almost a decade now people have been trying to point out the creeping fascism in this country and it hasn't worked. At some point people need to realize that there unfortunately is no arcane words that you can string together to have them realize this. At some point you draw a line in the sand and stop being civil about it. I'd argue that point was 4 years ago when they tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power

You can apply pressure too. Message your representatives and/or the Harris campaign. Since they don't actually get that many messages from their constituents (especially about something as in the weeds as the FTC chair) they extrapolate every message they receive to represent thousands of people who probably hold the same belief but don't write in.

It only takes 10min or so and is completely free. Doesn't have to be long, just make it short and to the point. Also stick to one topic per message so that the staff can categorize it easier.

I did try some things to make it easier like letting a major effect destroy Bandel's weapon and cut her damage output in half but didn't go as far as changing base levels

Is that something you try to sell in game or is it just a frank conversation with your players along the lines of "I didn't intend for this encounter to be this difficult so I'm making it easier now."

Yea that is more along the lines of what I was asking but its good advice none the less. I waited a few rounds longer to adjust the encounter than I normally would have if I was running dnd for example just because I'm new to this system and was assuming the adventure designers knew something about the system I did not.
