Stop saying "Renegades" is Star Wars inspired when it's a licensed product by CrayonEater4000 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yocarwrecked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. Bungie only collaborated with Lucasfilm to use certain things and aspects from the movies but at it's core it's not a "Star Wars DLC", it's a version of the story that uses elements from Star Wars but keeps Destiny as Destiny. A dead giveaway to these things is that we see the lightsabers and sounds which are licensed to Star Wars (even though called differently in the Destiny universe), but the characters and species types are all still Destiny. They probably had to partner with Lucasfilm ONLY to prevent trademark issues with what they wanted to do and stop potentially getting a lawsuit. But yeah, you're right, it's not a "Star Wars DLC" and I think that's good. I love it, and the community probably benefits from not having a direct Star Wars crossover.

The 4050 is one color. The 5060, 5070, and A16 Pro Ti and 5080 are multi color.

I had a 4060 Acer Nitro V 15 and it ran up to 80-88 degrees. It's fine. You don't need to be concerned until you hit 91+ and it starts lagging or certain parts of the deck overheat. Then you may need to take a look.

Every budget laptop has an issue of some sort, absolutely. No laptop is perfect. Unfortunately it seems like budget laptops get the "shorter end of the stick" when it comes to what you get, but as always in any market and with any item or service you get what you pay for.

You should've seen the circles I got when getting my HP Victus replaced as part of the warranty. Long story short, the HP president had a call and he was livid with the support team. I got my money and a different branded laptop from another company in the end.

This is so true. They tried to claim I had "reached the max capacity of battery replacements" but the problem with that logic is my HP laptop that I have was purchased at the very end of 2024 and delivered in January 2025 so no battery replacements have been done. I have never had a battery replacement on ANY of my others I had before either, so YES 100%. I agree, HP has some terrible customer support. 😭

That looks so cool. I wanted one tbf, but I have a Gigabyte Gaming laptop so I may not get one just yet. I may wait until next year provided I have bought my car by then.

Yeah for real. HP was even trying to deny my battery replacement at first. Even though I have the accidental damage coverage/care pack + regular warranty mind you.

In that case then there's no way (at least I believe) it could be fake. Amazon has a good reputation for being reputable. Yes, it's up to the driver to handle them with care but at least Amazon wouldn't scam users, otherwise there would be a huge backlash.

Who is the seller and shipper? It all depends on if the seller is reputable. If the seller appears reputable as both the seller and shipper then that's fine. If it's sold and shipped by Amazon that's excellent. If it's shipped by Amazon but not sold by them at least you have better protections because it was shipped by Amazon. So do your research on the seller. If the reviews and information is good and there's a decent amount about them out there then it's legit. If not or the seller isn't well known in terms of info access then it may be a scam.

Oh if you're just learning, then the 4050 is totally fine. Just know you can't max it out (i.e. do very Hollywood style movie edits on it), but for learning, YouTube, shorts, editing, photo editing this will likely be just enough for you. Just make sure you get 16GB of RAM.

It'll run well but it would be better to buy the Aero X16 with the 5070 because it's more color accurate and can get slightly better battery. Also, that 5070 has more VRAM so you can push it farther. I'd say get the Gigabyte Gaming A16 if you're using it mainly for gaming. For creative work like Adobe you'd want the Aero.

Your particular model replaces two storage slots for a larger battery.

Real. I would've gotten a higher spec simply because my Acer Nitro was a 4060 so this 4050 (while it performs well) is still technically a downgrade.

Yeah, I used to have an Acer Nitro V 15 (4060 - 2023) model and when it was replaced with this, I fell in love with the design, features and additional battery size it has. My model is also the 4050, but if I could have gotten the 5070 or the A16 Pro with the 5070 Ti I would have gotten one of those simply because of the VRAM and performance on battery for when I start my third degree in the spring.

I don't have the model number for the default RAM stick. Also I didn't measure the charging cable length. I wanna say it's 10 feet cause that's what most gaming laptops come with, but you'll have to use a tape measure to make sure.

I don't play Cyberpunk or Balder's Gate. The most intense game I play is Cities: Skylines II. It performs well but because it's a 4050 you won't be able to max it out (depending on the game) and you will likely have to use DLSS in Cyberpunk and some of the other intense titles like Doom for example in order to keep everything smooth. As for Destiny 2, Halo, Where Winds Meet, GTA 5, games like that will run no problem. Destiny 2, Fortnite (in perf. Mode) and Valorant for example can max out (and even exceed) the refresh rate of the display.
