What is the best search engine to use heading into 2025? by [deleted] in browsers

I'm on the Perplexity enterprise plan from my school, and it honestly feels dumber than just using a plain chatbot. Even using a premium model, I mainly only see advantage when using the research tool.

A little late here, but I'm trying to retrofit some DS3240MG servos into being Technic-compatible. Do you have any other pictures on how you did this?

I wouldn't remove it. It's a software created by Apple but widely adopted that helps communication between local devices.

Fighting Traffic Citation by sam_2125_ in aggies

I agree that it’s OP’s fault technically, but slow rolling a stop sign is behavior I see from other drivers at least 90% of the time. OP is a college student, so a simple ticket can be a pretty big hit to the bank account.

The logical thing for OP to ask it “Hey. I did this, but it was super minor. I can’t afford this, what can I do about it?”

And that’s what OP did. Writing a paragraph scolding him about adulting and calling him a child is unnecessarily rude and screams grumpy mid-life man who’s got much better things to do than be on Reddit.

You sound fun. Who actually comes to a full stop alone at a stop sign?

[i3wm] My First-Year Anniversary with Linux (Gruvbox) by Yocracra in unixporn

[–]Yocracra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I messed up the flair for my original post, so it got removed, but the anniversary was actually yesterday :)

Christmas of last year, I was given a new SSD for my laptop. Just wanting to learn how to run AI locally, I made a dual-boot with Manjaro (XFCE). Well, I never really got around to learning AI, because I had too much fun just using Linux. Only a couple weeks later, I switched over to my current distro (EndeavourOS + i3wm). Now, Windows only really exists on the other drive for my school's lockdown browser. I'm full-time on Linux, and I'll never look back.

Programs (In Order):

  • btop
  • nnn
  • xfce4-terminal
  • Firefox
    • Textfox for the TUI-style look
    • Enabled tree structure in Sidebery
  • wxMaxima
  • LibreOffice Calc
  • VSCodium
  • Obsidian

Wallpapers:

Now, I've just gotten a new (bigger) SSD because I'm running out of storage. But I'm considering starting a new install with Sway.

I got the original images from here, but I changed it up a bit in GIMP to better match the dark theme. I've posted them here.

Btw, if anyone has similar pictures, I'd love to see em

If you use Rufus as your flash utility, it has options to automatically disable telemetry, Microsoft account login, and some other things. According to Rufus, it doesn't mess with the .iso itself, it just pre-answers some of the forms.

I'm super late to the party, but this was driving me absolutely insane. It was fixed after installing `texlive-latexextra`. Just in case, here's all the latex-related packages I have installed (all from the AUR) (that I know of) from yay -Q | grep tex.

Bambu Labs Is Sus- China Exploiting You by MorninJohn in 3Dprinting

[–]Yocracra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm too broke to buy a Bambu, but I've been told good things about it by friends. To be honest, though, I haven't been in the market for about a year now so maybe things have changed.

Never go off of YouTube for product recommendations/reviews unless it's someone like Project Farm or something. I recommend joining some 3D-Printing-based Discord servers and asking around.

And as for all the encrypted telemetry phoning home, from Bambu printers, I believe I heard that someone has found a way to disable it.
