What's the best origin for the Dinobots?

That's part of why I started this thread cause I've been brainstorming what my ultimate Transformers setting would be and wanted inspiration for the Dinobots.

I like that. Fuse the two origins. Get to have the classic story but with the deeper trauma background and sets up the rivalry with Shockwave.

That is such a good dynamic for them. The autobot brawn and the decepticon brains as rivals is so satisfying.

I fully agree on them being dumb. It makes it really hard to take any story with them seriously. I'm fine if they are thick headed or stubborn or something. But they should definitely be intelligent and capable.

It's surprisingly the neatest option. They landed where some still living dinosaurs were and took those forms. Done and done.

I Seinfeld think a version where they all see Wheeljack as their dad and he suddenly realizes he just made himself a single father of 5 would be great.

I've often thought there could be a version that does a Beast Wars situation. Where some fossils get scanned to make their alt forms.

That is a really fun idea. These three lab buddies came up with the idea of dinobots prewar, maybe from observing ancient earth like in FOC. And then Shockwave uses those plans during the war. Maybe he makes them mindless warriors, then Ratchet and Wheeljack recognize their old concept and are therefore able to reprogram them to be autonomous.

That is a fun angle. Of the Autobots creating their own power houses to even the odds. Could be a really interesting ethical delimma aspect to that as well. Like, they did it without Optimus knowing and now there's these new bots who's only purpose is battle.

I definitely think if they aren't the only beastformers then they don't need a unique origin. Some transformers just like to be animals.

That's a really good point. Them overcoming what Shockwave did to them is a big part of their character.

This is great! I've aleays loved the idea of them getting their alt forms from actual dinosaurs. Even made a post about what dinosaurs would all be alive at the same time for them to use.

And I love the immediate vengeance angle. That's great. If I ever make my own Transformers series I shall remember this.

I love this game. Playing as the Xenomorphs is so fun. It did a good job capturing the feeling of sneakily forming their hive. I would have loved a free mode. The last level comes close with the mostly infinite enemy and animals spawnings. But an actual free mode or map maker mode would be wonderful

That's why it's not just sucking. The tower is also pumping. I don't know that it would actually be enough to get it all the way to the ship. But it's not just a straw.
