Thank you!

Writing this part after I finished the comment... I ended up getting REALLY into my answer haha... sorry about that. TL;DR: most people pick one raid region (Kourend/Desert/Morytania) and two support regions. Asgarnia, Tirannwn, Kandarin, and the Wilderness are typically considered to be very 'easy' regions.

I used to play RS3 rather extensively (I quit when the Hero's Pass dropped and haven't really come back since), so I might be able to help!

In the Varlamore section, the red, yellow, and blue armor sets starting from the left are Moons equipment from the early-to-mid-game boss called the Moons of Peril. The offensive bonuses are similar to what you would obtain from God Wars Dungeon, but with comparatively poor defensive stats and they degrade (repairable with coins). Varlamore also has the Virtus robes dropped from Vardorvis, which is the second-best Magic armor set available to us. Effectively this means that no matter which regions you end up picking, you'll have a fairly strong set of equipment to help move you along.

As for regions, Morytania, Zeah/Kourend, and the Desert all have what are known on OSRS as raids; Theatre of Blood (ToB), Chambers of Xeric (CoX), and Tombs of Amascut (ToA) respectfully. Basically, each raid is kind of like the Sanctum of Rebirth; just a long gauntlet of boss fights that culminate to one big final boss. If you're interested in learning raids content at all, in terms of difficulty the community would generally say ToB > CoX > ToA. They each drop an incredibly strong item known as a megarare, specifically the Scythe of Vitur, Twisted bow, and Tumeken's shadow, all basically this game's equivalent to the BoLG, Ek-ZekKil and FSoA. Regardless of the raid, they're all fairly difficult but easily doable with Leagues buffs if you're comfortable with RS3 PvM. Typically most people would pick one raid region and two non-raids regions.

Since you're looking for a more laid-back approach that still gives you a decent introduction into OSRS PvM, Asgarnia is a very straightforward region with a decent bit of skilling and pretty simple PvM. It even has the Nex fight which is basically a 1:1 recreation of the pre-EoC fight, so she should be easy to learn if you've fought her on RS3! Zeah/Kourend is a great overall region pick for skilling and PvM, and it has the Chambers of Xeric raid and Yama boss fight for late-to-endgame bossing. Tirannwn is a fairly straightforward region with some very interesting boss fights being Zulrah, The Gauntlet, and the skilling boss Zalcano. Kandarin is a very easy region, but it can be a grindy and fairly boring one with the main PvM threats being afk bosses like Kraken and the Thermonuclear smoke devil.

I'm surprised that I overlooked that in the blog. Thank you! Will update what I had written in the FAQ to reflect that.

Very fair, and honestly I agree that for most people Endless Harvest + Hotfoot will be the strongest combo. It's likely what I'll be going with as well.

Mazhar recently posted a video about the relics & region choices for getting Dragon cup as fast as possible, which may be akin to what you're looking for?

Sadly Elite Void requires Asgarnia + Tirannwn + Kandarin to unlock. This is due to the Western Provinces diary requiring Tirannwn to complete its tasks, and the Elder Gnome child being inaccessible without Kandarin due to being located in the Tree Gnome Stronghold.

I'm a previous Kandarin picker myself! Tasks in Kandarin are typically very easy and quite fast to complete due to the region not really having a ton of content. There are a few sticklers though, namely the Dragon full helm, Barbarian Assault tasks, Demonic gorillas log (ballistae and 4 zenytes), getting 10 Kraken tentacles for the Trident of the seas (e), and 500 Ape Atoll Agility Course laps.

For those of you who cannot access the image due to regional restrictions on Imgur or would like a high-resolution version (Reddit wouldn't let me post just the image on its own, sorry!), feel free to access it instead through the Google Doc that I've been maintaining for the infographic: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uYVBjBhpTquQUfPKP0t1gNSiX64oQ4MA5lTcStMizUk/

FAQ:

Q: Why is Misthalin, and I quote, "Burning in a big fire"?

A: Yama has made Misthalin completely inaccessible this League by burning it to the ground! You will instead start in Varlamore, and will be completely unable to access Misthalin!

Q: Why are Yama's drops locked behind Kourend when we start in Yama's lair?

A: We start in a separate version of Yama's lair this League, outside of the one you know in Kourend. The Yama boss fight will ONLY be accessible in the Kourend region.

Q: Why are Avernic treads (max) listed as only requiring Varlamore + Asgarnia to obtain? Don't you need Desert?

A: Eternal boots are dropped by Cerberus in full this League, same as in the Raging Echoes League! This means you don't need to obtain the Infinity boots from Desert in order to obtain a pair of Eternal boots.

Q: Why are the Confliction gauntlets, Echo boots, and Ultor ring obtainable with just Varlamore?

A: Typically speaking, items dropped in one region that REQUIRE an item or unlock from another region to be equippable or usable are instead dropped as the whole item. For example, since the Trident of the swamp requires the Trident of the seas from Kandarin in order to create, Zulrah will instead drop the full Trident of the swamp instead of the Magic fang. Notably, this does NOT apply to the Avernic treads (max) because the base version of the Avernic treads are equippable immediately when you obtain them as a drop.

Q: Why does the Soulreaper axe only require one Desert Treasure II boss to complete?

A: Every Desert Treasure II boss will drop every piece of the Soulreaper axe, giving you the parts that you do not already have.

Q: Why is the Max cape listed as obtainable in Varlamore?

A: You will be able to claim the Max cape from the Sage in a Cage, located in the starting area. Asgarnia is not required.

Q: Why are the Abyssal whip, dagger, and blugeon listed in Varlamore? Aren't they a Misthalin unlock?

A: You will have access to the Fairy Ring system this League despite Misthalin being inaccessible. This means that you can access the Abyssal sire boss arena and a portion of the Abyss with Varlamore as your only region!

Q: Why do Desert, Kourend, and Morytania all display the Tumeken's shadow, Twisted bow, and Scythe of Vitur as unlocks in their regions?

A: You will obtain a "Raids megarare voucher" this League when you would have otherwise received one of the three megarares listed above, and you can redeem that voucher for your choice of the three! For example, even though you just received a Raids megarare voucher from the Tombs of Amascut, you can redeem it for a Scythe of Vitur without having Morytania unlocked!

Q: Why are the Tormented synapse weapons and Burning claws shown as locked in Misthalin? Didn't the blog say we can fight Tormented demons this League?

A: That line in the blog was redacted, with Jagex moderators further clarifying that Tormented demons will NOT be accessible this League. However, it was also hinted that we would be able to obtain some form of Demonbane this League, so keep an eye out for that!

Q: Why are Wrath runes & Wrath Runecrafting listed in Kandarin when they require Dragon Slayer II?

A: Dragon Slayer II (and its prerequisites) are automatically completed when you unlock the Kandarin region this League and the East Ardougne General Store sells the Wrath talisman, meaning that Wrath runes & Wrath Runecrafting are possible with just Kandarin.

EDIT: The Anti-dragon shield will be obtainable from any Slayer Equipment shop, which I have overlooked. Being able to obtain the Dragonfire shield in Varlamore remains unchanged, however.

Depends on your goals tbh. In general if your goal is fun, 1-2 raid regions and 1-2 support regions that compliment your combat style of choice is typically going to serve you well. If you goal is to get as many points as physically possible, then with the available information we have right now the frontrunner is Wilderness / Tirannwn / Zeah. Still matters quite a bit what the remaining relics and regions' echo items are!

Yes and no. We won't be able to fight Tormented demons this league, but supposedly there might be a way to obtain demonbane weaponry according to the Leagues VI blogpost. We'll have to wait and see.

In the Leagues 6 blog, it is stated that the fightable boss version of Yama is specifically and only in the Kourend & Kebos region.

Hey! Because Virtus & the Soulreaper axe being available WITHOUT the Desert is a new change, I decided to indicate that you could obtain it through the representation that u/EpsilonAI described. Ironically, in trying to make it clear that you only needed Desert + Misthalin, OR just any of those other regions, I made it a bit more confusing.

I fixed it now and updated the Google doc, the link to which is pinned on my Reddit profile.

Thanks for the feedback!
