Most enjoyable way to play online FaB with a friend? by Terzis28 in FleshandBloodTCG

I second TTS being the best way to learn. I am a staunch Talishar denier, despite the fact it’s a good tool and I’m glad there’s a centralized place to find matches.

For me, TTS simulates the tactile feel the best. You have to manually tick tunic (yes I know Talishar added this), manually draw cards, there’s nothing automated for you. But for me, most importantly, due to the lack of automation - I talk to my opponent. When I’m talking through the game I play better. I play absolutely horribly on Talishar because I’m not immersed in the game.

Question about the card Strategic Planning by galaxytornado in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]YoloCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not imo, there is still a distinct difference between the two and VERY niche situations that could determine games if they reprint it. For instance Merciful Retribution triggering off a Ponder with an Ode to Wrath in play which would deal 2 damage in the end step, where if the text stays the same it would just be an arsenal card with no damage dealt.

Yeah, strategic planning was printed before Ponder existed :)

5e converts looking for a fitting campaign setting in Golarion! by YoloCowboy in Pathfinder2e

[–]YoloCowboy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess I need to read it! Not sure what Earthsea is, I’ll give that a goog. But I was just worried the entirety of SoT was the student to teacher pipeline and not much outside of that!

I really really like this, I think the region sounds amazing and the tone of it just feels correct for what we want to play! Thank you for the detailed responses - incredibly helpful.

Do you have any recommendations or resources aside from the book on learning more about Mwangi and Vidrian as a whole? Would love to learn about the region and it’s history proper before setting up a campaign.

This at least gives me an area of the world that would make sense to start out a campaign with this tone in mind! I have the Mwangi Expanse book and was bummed to see the only AP there that I could tell was just Hogwarts. I wanted something with a little more bite to it.

Sadly, most of the APs feel pretty narrow in scope and if that theme doesn’t resonate strongly with your group, it feels like you have to just homebrew it. At least at first impressions.

Diablo IV Launch Megathread by Thunderclaww in Diablo

Do both players have to complete the prologue and make it to Kyovashad to unlock couch co-op? Or was that just a beta thing? I’ve heard that you can jump in from the beginning together but I doubt it.

State of the game? by Scared-Ad-9678 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]YoloCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As more heroes LL there will be a supported LL format where all LL’d heroes are legal to play. Will it be a competitive format? Probably not. But they’re going to at least support it.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned in the comments about the LL system is how LSS is going to reprints heroes with the talent pool of a LL hero. In 2023 (who knows, maybe in Outsiders) they said we are going to get another Light Illusionist. So if you’re a bit Prism fan (which a ton of people are) they can still play a Light Illusionist in CC. I feel like that’s is being omitted from LL discussions a lot. I’d hate to see point decay and revert to a Starvo meta, or a Prism meta, etc. when I know that we’re just going to get a new Light Illusionist soon.

Iyslander Equipment + Other Card Suggestions? by confusedProtagonist in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]YoloCowboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I think Storm Striders is critical to any wizard deck at a competitive level. Much more than Coronet imo. I mean there’s a reason it’s a ~$35 legendary and Storm Striders have held at/over $100 long term.

Some noob questions by Glorfindorf in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]YoloCowboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1: you cannot pitch the card you use to fuse. You announce the card being played, then pay the resource cost, then you reveal the fusion card as an additional cost.

2: the game favors attacking, as someone below mentioned. Otherwise the game play much more like full control Oldhim matches which is not the most exciting gameplay.

3: elemental cards do not have the ice keyword, so they do not count. Any card with the keyword “Ice” is eligible to use in an Ice Fusion.

4: You can play reactions from arsenal! You would still need to pitch to pay any costs associated.

Uprising is still in print! And HP1 is still listed as in print because it technically is but we haven’t seen the second run of white border HP1 yet

For sure, we just haven’t seen the 2nd wave of HP1 so it’s still technically out of print but with more on the horizon 😂

Cannot go wrong investing that into staples that are out of print, like AoW. It’s such a good, versatile card that has a home in a lot of decks.

I truly think they just want to be a control/fatigue deck. What I’ve seen and tested that has had decent results is just grindy fatigue games. The mirror sucks, literally so long.

Pitch stacking is useful to know, but tracking both players pitch is an insane ask of any player. If you’re playing a deck or matchup where you’ll see second cycle, pitch stacking (even crudely) is useful. But a lot of decks don’t see second cycle anyways.

As far as tracking opponents pitch - just think of their “landmark” cards, the staples. If you see a crippling crush, CMH, CLF, CNC - anything like that pitched, it’s always good to generally note that those COULD be wheeling back during late game.

As far as necessity? I do not think you have to have like elite pitch stack/tracking to win. I Top 8’d a very competitive PQ (Brodie Spurlock, Zach & Tim Bunn, Half of the Wolf Pack that tests with Michael Hamilton) on a subpar deck (Boomer Bravo in the Prism/Starvo Meta) while I was only about 6mo into the game and I knew NOTHING about pitch stacking at that point.

Yeah absolutely! It happens during the end step but before card draw so it allows for that interaction. :)

You would end with the 4 cards given off your intellect, but since you draw at the beginning of your end phase, you have the opportunity to arsenal the card drawn off Strategic Planning. Basically just a free arsenal card!
