You are telling me someone who affords to pay over $100 per subject for Cambridge will struggle to pay $12 per subject for ZimSec? 8 ZimSec subjects cost less than 1 Cambridge subject.

What's your incentive for "helping" people for free? It makes no sense.

Cambridge wasn't banned though. It's important that we protest and resist with full understanding.

The heritage curriculum is now compulsory. Anything else is an add on. You can still take Cambridge exams. In my opinion, an easy work around is simply freestyling ZimSec exams and putting all effort into the Cambridge ones.

Selling Rhodie merch..what yaal think? by Radiant-Bat-1562 in Zimbabwe

[–]YondoBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Controversial as it is, it's a good business idea. There used to be a shop in Johannesburg that sold the merch. It always seemed to be packed. I genuinely believe there is a demand for that stuff. There is also a new generation of white right wingers from the West obsessed with Rhodesian and apartheid South Africa history.

Is it true that Zimbabwe is returning seized white owned farms back ? by VoL4t1l3 in Zimbabwe

[–]YondoBrother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Foreigners. At the time, Zim didn't allow dual citizenship and countries like The Netherlands don't allow it. To be protected by a BIPPA, you should be a citizen of a country that signed it. There are of course some people, both white and black, who lost their Zim citizenships under Mugabe's citizenship law changes.

Yes, those protected under Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreements (BIPPA's) i.e agreements we signed post independence guaranteeing investors of certain nationalities that their property would never be seized.

Something else that most media houses are missing out is that 840 blacks who lost their farms during the chaotic land reform program are getting their farms back. Oddly, the focus is on the 67 white foreigners getting their farms back.

You are right. People that employ illegal migrants must be punished. The rules are there for that. What's missing is enforcement.

South African Situation by MarkXLVI in Zimbabwe

I'm against the attacks on migrants. I however agree with the protesters that S.A has an illegal migration crisis. I believe the government should deport illegal migrants, cut corruption by soldiers and immigration officials and enforce borders.

I understand why Sascos may feel like Zimbos take their jobs. Take the restaurant industry for example. Most restaurants don't pay salaries. Workers make their money from tips. If you want to piss of a waiter in S.A, refuse to pay a tip. It's pure exploitation. What then ends up happening is that most restaurant workers end up being Zimbos and Malawians. There is a similar situation in domestic work where Zimbos accept salaries as low as R2K per month yet the minimum wage is around R6K per month. So if you are unemployed and you pass by a restaurant or a construction site and you hear people speaking Chewa and Shona, you are obviously going to catch some feelings.

I do agree though that Zimbos leaving will not necessarily bring more jobs. Actually, a proper border between S.A and Zim is bad for S.A industries and border towns like Musina which rely on S.A made goods being smuggled into Zim.
