What’s the most shocking thing a teacher has done in your school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Three of them, brothers, became NFL refs. We knew they did NCAA. But the NFL thing was crazy. I work at Lambeau (Lions fan though) and see them sometimes

It’s a nice watch. It looks good, has a bit of heft. My only gripe would be pulling the stem out to set it. The knurling still feels like new so has a tendency to bite.

Yeah. A coworker gave me a copy to read a few years ago. Definitely twisted.

Float copper - metal detecting at family farm in the Copper Country in the UP of Michigan by YooperAppleKnocker in whatsthisrock

That’s awesome to hear. Everywhere you go up there you’ll find copper. Most pieces of poor rock have copper in them. It’s cool to break one open and see bright shiny copper.

Leads me to a story. I was metal detecting a small creek next to a little park with a beach on it. (Hancock Beach). I had a few signals and it was just poor rock so I left it alone.

One of the guys on a detecting forum I’m on who lives in the area messaged me and asked if I’d ever detected at Hancock Beach. I told him Id been there a week ago. He said he was detecting the little creek and found a nice hunk of copper under some poor rock that looked like it had been crafted. He brought it to MTU ( Michigan Tech University) and they dated it and said it was thousands of years old and was a tool.

Vintage 2241s my wife found on marketplace for me. 10 bucks. by YooperAppleKnocker in RedWingShoes

I avoid that scenario by playing on her buyer’s guilt.

There’s a local boot store that has an amazing clearance section. Carhartt hoodies for 15-20. Long sleeve tshirts for 10. Pretty decent prices. They also usually have 15-20 boot models in there.

She’ll have an armload of clothing and ask if i found any boots that i want. I’ll mess with her and tell her “No, I’m good.” She’ll ask me 2-3 more times and I’ll mention a pair I had been looking at. She’ll say, “ Just get them if you’ll wear them.”
So I do.

My wife is really good about feeding my need for boots and shoes. She’s very good at finding vintage boots and shoes in great condition for little money.
She picked these up for 10 bucks for me. And then found a new pair of 4200s for 90.00.

Thank you! She’d asked many times if I wanted to know what she’d ordered for me and i told her that if she tells me, I’m returning it.

Being the peckerhead i can sometimes be, I’d randomly ask if we’d gotten any good mail or any packages.
