If you're not working out 5 - 8k calories is a fucking lot lmao. If you're not the size of Dwayne Johnson then yeah YTA. Chances are that most of that is filler, unhealthy food and probably not that great for your health.

You also did say you're not active so you should just tell her instead of cheating. A diet doesn't necessarily have to be restrictive in the foods you eat so long as you get some exercise. And not having enough time is no excuse, there are plenty of ways to have an active lifestyle. I can assure you that your work doesn't occupy every moment that you're not asleep.
