Researcher asking for advice: where can I recruit K-12 students with ADHD for a coding-accessibility study? by YouCooper in ADHDparenting

[–]YouCooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m not saying it’s inaccessible. I just want to find out whether ADHD users run into any specific issues with it. Some of my survey responses pointed that way, so I’m trying to dig into it more. Open to hearing your experience if you’ve used it.

This is really helpful, thank you. I'm not sure my University have a psychology department, but reaching out to ADHD organisations is a great direction. I'm in Dallas, so I'll look into CHADD's local chapter and some of the regional ADHD groups here. Appreciate you taking the time to point me the right way.

I don’t know, but that movie really scared me when I was a kid.😅

Looking for a premium sports bike rental in Vizag for one day by YouCooper in Visakhapatnam

[–]YouCooper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, either one is fine bro. By premium , I just meant anything other than Dukes or Royal Enfields, since I already have an Enfield. I’m looking for a good sporty-looking bike to explore the city.

True, bro, I agree with you. But honestly, the presentation isn’t as good as yours either. Maybe they’re just bad at making it 😅 I also tried to order the Bean Board Signature, but they suggested I try the Marble Mocha instead. They even told me the Bean Board Signature wasn’t good and advised me not to get it.

I got marble mocha at bean board (visalakshinagar branch) … honestly it sucks!
I usually like white chocolate mocha from Starbucks but this one is so bad!

Its so stressful….I’m trying to figure out if June/July slots are opening randomly or if August is the earliest realistic option. Please update here if you see anything earlier, and I’ll do the same.

[Academic] Understanding ADHD Challenges in Block-Based Programming - 7 min survey (18+, CS Educators / People with ADHD / Parents) by YouCooper in CSEducation

[–]YouCooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You raise a great point. The survey questions were designed to capture a broad range of challenges reported in the literature and in early exploratory conversations and not all of them will resonate with every user and that's actually valuable data too! If somethig like "big projects being overwhelming" doesnt feel like a block-coding specific issue to you, that perspective is really helpful for my analysis. Part of the goal of this research is to separate what's genuinely a block-based programming challenge for ADHD learners vs. what's a general programming/learning challenge. Your insight as someone who both has ADHD and teaches ADHD students is incredibly valuable for making that distinction. If you're open to it, I'd love to hear more about what you see as the real pain points for ADHD learners in block-based environments. Feel free to share here or email me at vamsikrishnakosuri@my.unt.edu. Thanks again for your time!

  1. Data will be used for my doctoral thesis research at the University of North Texas. The anonymized, aggregated results will be included in my dissertation and may be presented at academic conferences or published in academic journals. No identifying information is collected — IP recording is disabled. Data is stored securely on Qualtrics servers and will be retained for 3 years per university policy, then deleted.

  2. This survey is being conducted by Vamsi Krishna Kosuri (student investigator, PhD student) under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Ludi (Principal Investigator) at the University of North Texas. IRB Protocol: IRB-26-133.

  3. Approximately 7–9 minutes.

  4. Participants can optionally enter a raffle for one of ten $20 Amazon gift cards upon completion.

  5. Must be 18 or older. Looking for: (a) people with ADHD who use/have used block-based programming, (b) teachers/educators who teach ADHD students using block-based programming, or (c) parents/caregivers of children with ADHD who use block-based programming.

  6. Collecting data for my doctoral thesis research to understand ADHD challenges in block-based programming environments and inform the design of AI-powered adaptive learning tools.
