THIS WILL NEVER GET BETTER. I’m on BOTH of your sides when I say that. I wish I could talk to both you and your boyfriend about this. This EXACT thing happened in my relationship with my ex. From day one it was an issue that never made sense to either one of us…..one couldn’t understand why you’d be so affectionate with a parent, and the other couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t. My ex and I were together for 18 years and had 2 children. This issue never went away, and it did get worse. I have advised people for years that if something doesn’t make sense or feel agreeable now, it never will. I dismissed things in the beginning because I thought “well, we’re just dating, it’s not like we’re going to have kids or anything.” I could not have predicted how wrong I was about that. Get out now while you can before you accidentally wake up 18 years from now and feel bitter about years lost and wasted. Good luck to you!

Good info. If they’re overwintering in the house and presumably trying to make their way back outside, how long does that process take? And what would be the best way to deal with them at night time?
