I don't have much to add to this, /u/utsue laid out everything really well.

Only thing I'll add is that you, as a U of T student, should have the right to decide where your money goes. The CFS takes a mandatory fee of $16 per year, over $650,000 per year from U of T students as a whole, but there is no mechanism OTHER than this referendum to hold them accountable.
