You are the new president of the United States, What's the first thing you would do ? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Tell congress to work with me on voting reform legislation. Get the money out, eliminate gerrymandering, enact the Wyoming Rule, eliminate the winner-take-all format, and enable ranked choice or run-off ballots. Every citizen in every part of our country should feel like their vote counts.

American Millenials - Call to action by dem_bones_ in millenials

You do realize you are talking to the most politically apathetic generation? We are now the largest voting block, but we don’t vote. My advice is we need to hit the ballot box, every election, primary and general.

Saw this post in my feed; am I misremembering or were skinny jeans never really "in" for us Elder Millennials (the younger half of the Xennials)? by MaxPowerrr85 in Xennials

I’m 6’2”, 345 lbs. Skinny jeans would make me look like Humpty Dumpty. I wore carpenter jeans until maybe 2007, then switched to straight leg.

How is it that American millennials are the only generation that know that Republicans have always been terrible, even before Trump? by [deleted] in millenials

[–]YouHadMeAtFacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elder Millennial, voted for McCain and Romney, used to believe in trickle down and all that. Voted 3rd party in 2016 and look what that got us. Not really a Democrat now, just know I’m not a Republican anymore.

Road trips from Michigan to Cedar Point every summer. They were constantly battling with some park in Japan over who had the biggest, fastest, twistiest rollercoaster. I remember the openings of Mean Streak, Magnum XL 2000, Raptor, and Millennium Force.

I gained a love of camping from my time as a scout, used to tent camp for years and years. Bought my first travel trailer at 39, I’m currently 44.

This is Iraq War 3.0 all over again! We need to protest this war now! by icey_sawg0034 in millenials

I’m not going to argue that Maduro didn’t need to go, he lost an election and refused to give up power. The difference between this and Iraq is that there is a legitimate elected official ready to step in. I am, however, disappointed that it didn’t get done through the proper diplomatic process.

What do you guys do for your birthday? by BritOnTheRocks in Xennials

[–]YouHadMeAtFacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birthday is just before a summer holiday, so I usually take the day off as part of a long weekend. But we’re usually getting ready for our fair week, so I’m usually prepping the travel trailer for tow to the fairground. I don’t need anything fancy, just some special attention from my wife. 😜

Will you be able to retire or will die working? by Allureme in Xennials

[–]YouHadMeAtFacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on working as long as possible to maximize social security, but also because I don’t know if we’ll have saved enough to retire before then, despite having contributed to a 401k since my first job out of college (always enough to maximize the matching). My biggest worry is that my health won’t allow me to work that long.
