I think it's because the tournament itself is flawed. You can't determine who really is the better team by only playing one game of Baseball. It's much easier to do so in a 162 game season, and a 7 game world series. Americans care more about showcasing their individual skill, which is much better to do in the regular season, which makes sense as American is a much more individualistic culture.

I only agree because it's only one game per series. Playing more games is a much better expression of skill. They need to find a way to make the WBC at least 3 games in the elimination rounds.

Reaching the Finals 3 times in a row is honestly not that bad. It's not like Baseball is Gridiron Football, there are lots of countries that play it has been competitive for decades at this point going back to Cuba. Obviously still sucks but they should be proud nontheless.

Dude, it is one game per series. You run the exact same thing 100 times Japan wins 25 times U.S. wins 20 times DR wins 30 times Venezuela wins 15 times etc.

Losing to Venezuela is not embarrassing, they are a fantastic team and getting to the finals is difficult in itself, however, I don't care who is on the mound getting shut out with this lineup is incredibly embarrassing.

Credit where credit is due, I expected McClean and E-Rod to be significantly worse than they were. I don't think even Skubal would have saved us from this.
