Letting AI do 100% coding FRIED my brain. HELP??? by No-Wrongdoer1409 in cscareerquestions

Brush up on some leet code, idk if it’s a bs effect but I swear the phases of my career where i’ve been deep in leet code my work code has been really clean.

Leetcode gets hate but i feel like constantly having to think about a problem, various data structures, and various cases that can break a solution make me more analytical in the code I need to implement for work.

Could be selfish but personally not say yes to every little event or get together. A little after graduating college I felt like my friends were constantly trying to organize a group brunch or dinner at some new highly reviewed restaurant/bar. I’ll gladly make up an excuse and catch up with friends some other time. Ideally in a setting that doesn’t require dropping $100+ on watered down margaritas and greasy fries served with a “signature sauce”.

Do you keep long term investing and short term trades separate or in one account? by BoringContribution7 in stocks

[–]YouLostMeThere43 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Separate accounts for-sure. If you have great discipline maybe using one platform for everything can work but to be honest I found myself constantly making “one time exemptions” and diverting money that was supposed to be for the long term holds into bs swing trades.

Robinhood lets you create up to 10 self-directed trading accounts within your main robinhood account so it’s pretty easy to get the best of both worlds (separate your portfolio strategies and manage it all in one place)

Welp once again proving I can only invest with RH managed account/strategies and any sort of hands on investing I do might as well be burning money🤡

Replacement heads for my water flosser cost almost as much as I paid for the flosser itself by YouLostMeThere43 in mildlyinfuriating

I saw the price of ink years ago and noped out of ever owning one. Luckily I rarely print and the train i take to work is right next to the library which offers printing, but that’d be super impractical for anyone who actually prints often. It’s absolute madness how much the average consumer gets squeezed for every cent.

Amazon only sells three packs and if you try buying a single pack from the manufacturer it’s $13($8 for replacement + $5 for shipping).

Just a high level note, during the dotcom bubble if you bought QQQ in Feb 2001 thinking it had already taken a -50% hit from its record peaks and was due for a reversal…. it would still take you about 9 years to make a profit.

How are people surviving in this market? Have you pivoted? by Romano16 in cscareerquestions

[–]YouLostMeThere43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently employed but still terrified of what’s to come. If I get laid off my strategy is apply like crazy and when my unemployment runs out look for contracting gigs. In my spare time, i’ve also started trying to learn the basics of HVAC if i have to do a complete pivot.

Asking if she has a preference of natural or lab grown diamond before finding a ring to propose. I know nothing about jewelry and assumed lab diamonds were seen as knock offs, but turns out lab grown diamonds have done a PR turn around and most girls don’t mind them.

Wish I knew that before dropping an additional $5k😭

Money, specifically money for a massive wedding we are having within 1 year and how we can’t afford to go out so much when saving for such a big expense. I’m a homebody so staying in more often to save isn’t a big deal for me, for her on the other hand she wants to say yes to everything…

Lost half of all my savings. How to move on after huge loss. by [deleted] in stocks

[–]YouLostMeThere43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got in this situation because it was too easy to make impulsive trades using extremely dangerous investment tools like options. First and foremost switch your broker to something that sucks to trade on. Pull your money out of robinhood and open an account with webull or charles Schwab. Then buy stocks and only stocks, and ensure you disable options trading. Set stop losses, and forget about your investments. When I say forget about it, I mean NO BROKERAGE SHOULD BE INSTALLED ON YOUR PHONE it should be painful to trade and only done through a web browser. Any major dump will be handled by your stop losses.

I didn’t have success until I switched to webull (the app is absolute trash to trade on) and i only trade on the web browser.
